It doesn’t matter if you think they’re “not being true to themselves.” It doesn’t matter if you think the person you’re outing them to is nice and accepting. It doesn’t matter if you think they’re just scared or overreacting for no good reason. WE ALWAYS HAVE A REASON FOR STAYING IN THE CLOSET. You may not understand or know these reasons, but you should respect them. And even if we are going to come out to somebody, it is up to us when and how we do it, coming out is a deeply personal experience and you have no right to influence it. Unless you have asked them and have EXPLICIT permission, never, EVER out somebody. You could ruin their life or literally get them killed.
