Hot take— I think we give fan service of women in media too much crap sometimes but I understand why women, afab, or folk along those lines get so hyper vigilant about it.

I think it’s important to reinforce that women don’t exist for the male gaze or men’s validation. The problem is fandom tends to fall into HEAVY black and white thinking that clouds our judgement.

I have an issue when people see a conventionally attractive woman or a woman that even could be falling in the male gaze and immediately decide that she’s “goonerbait” or problematic.

In my opinion people who are involved in fandom discourse need to educate themselves more on how media literacy or social institutions like sexism work instead of depending solely on patterns they may not even know the full extent of. It could fuel a lot more interesting conversations!

Tl:dr Nuance good, please check yourself in fandom discourse

Also if you are going to publicly rant about sexism make sure you’re also checking your own beliefs for sexist patterns

So earlier in my final exam for a plant biology class I had to classify if a Mango was a Drupe or Hesperidium

But the problem is I didn’t remember what hesperidium meant, but I remembered Drupe=Pit seed so I proceeded to have a crisis on wether or not mangos had pits or not BECAUSE I HAVEN’T HAD ONE IN FOREVER

It got so bad that on three separate occasions I just conjured an image of Mango Cookie in my head and extensively analyzed what I could remember about his design to try and remember if anything ever referenced a pit

So anyways mangos do, indeed, have pits and apparently I said they were a citrus (Hesperidium) on accident.

throwing my idea’s out into the void in an effort to help myself get a better grip on where i want my upcoming fic to go, i was thinking about obsessions for Jason. Like, revenant fits him more than a halfa in my opinion, and I wanna do this little thing with two obsessions for halfa’s (bc i just love space and protection obsession danny shhh, and using the fact that he has two forms since he is both alive and dead as reasoning). but since jason probably won’t be a halfa but still has acore, he needs an obsession.

I was thinking of making it protection but then was like, what if it’s family based? Like base it off of what they wanted or loved most in life (like ember and fame or box ghost and his love for boxes). And it might just be me but i feel like it’s pretty cannon that Jason values family or familiar ties, at the very least he did before he died so it would count.
