It’s been too long, but I’m nearly done with ch 10 of Look at Me. While I finish things up and do a final edit and everything, enjoy a little preview of what’s to come. Lots happens in this chapter! 👀

“He wants to make sure you are safe in his absence, which is admirable.” Rose paused. “Which brings me to the reason why I asked you to visit me here today. I have something for you. Or, rather, Lord Ren has something for you.”
Rey’s brow furrowed in pleasant surprise as Rose produced a small parcel of burlap, unwrapping it to reveal a dagger, more elegant than any she’d seen before. Her mouth agape, she picked it up, enjoying the perfectly balanced weight of the shining steel nestled in her palm. And when she turned it this way and that, she found that in its handle were embedded small and glistening yellow gems. It was a work of art.
“Rose, this is… I can hardly find the words.”
“Lord Ren came to me not long before he left, and he asked me to make this for you. I told him I would keep it safe until his return, but he insisted that I give it to you as soon as it was completed, whether he was here or not. He thought perhaps you might enjoy something to take your mind off of his absence.” Rose grinned, clearly pleased at the success of the surprise.
