I know this is not a safe space but the state of f/f romance novels is so fucking dire. Everyone is so scared of writing something "problematic" or "toxic" that they produce the most boring, toothless, charmless, unerotic stories you could imagine. There's no character flaws. No real conflict. No hot, impulsive sex without at-length discussion beforehand. Everything is made absolutely clear to the reader lest there might be an understanding. I understand exactly how this happens and also it bores me to tears.

Therapy speak is super annoying in characters and i think more authors should weaponize this by having a character use therapy speak to justify all their bad life choices including but not limited to bullying, arson, and war crimes to really drive home just how obnoxious it is
