I've been playing Amnesia:Memories in my spare time, I've known of the game for like- a decade, and I finally decided to buy it and give it a try.
Going through Ikki's route as my first experience was a mistake lmfao I was not ready for the MC to get death threats over dating a guy, like girls, chill omg
Also I totally thought Rika was Ikki's sugar mommy or sum
Cause even compared to the way the other characters are dressed (which is super extra) ... her clothes def gave "mature woman in her 30s" & she also runs his creepy ass fanclub
And I was like "Oh, no wonder she's so jealous of MC dating Ikki, he's probs supposed to be focusing on her instead"
But nah... girlie is legit psycho, making a whole ass fanclub to orchestrate his dating life, down to WHO gets to confess to him based on a point system
Huh?
HUH?????
Honestly the best way I can summarize his route is... Please, I beg of you, someone teach these people what boundaries are.

In other news, Mr. Manager, Waka, is the goat in this one, the actual voice of reason, despite his quirky, militarized view of the workplace lmfao

In which order should you play the worlds in amnesia: memories? for the best possible experience, try...
clover world: you like spock? you like confuzzled boy trying his best? he will be your favorite. you’ll have no idea who anyone is or wtf is going on. perfect intro to the game, 10/10, good for the heart
heart world: for the purpose of being spoiler free, i will tell you nothing. but, this. this one is interesting.
spade world: it’s the mary sue world. you get to be the special one, the different one. potential for murder gets a little higher in this game
lbr tho, she’s a mary sue in all of the worlds. you’re supposed to project your personality a bit.
diamond world: this one scared the shit out of me. like i actually cried. probably shouldn’t let anyone younger than 18 play this if they’re in a trusting relationship with any guy cause holy shit.
joker world: you’ll probably need a walkthrough if you don’t want to find every possible death. if you’re into that, then s a v e before making each choice so you don’t have to do everything all over again. also, you might want a walkthrough just because if you don’t think like the game does then you’ll miss out on some really cute moments. you have to keep in mind that the main character has to be a little fucked up to get the happy ending.
you will also be a little fucked up by the time you get the happy ending.
I want a separate game where this sweet camera boy is just happy and you are happy and it’s just you going about your life with your sweet boyfriend and the rest of the protagonists are there and you already know everybody and someone finally gets the joker boi a hairbrush and does some clippy clip with skissors. seriously, his left hand is a sweetheart.... it’s the right hand you have to worry about.
The term for a minor that works alongside you is a “kouhai”. You may notice that I tag that phrase in a lot of Mine’s posts on this blog. That’s because she looks up to Kimi (the main character) and even calls her senpai. The phrase that’s most important to remember in the urban dictionary definition is “underclassman”. You are her superior, and in Japan, the superior usually has the under level employee do small jobs that they don’t feel like doing.
The term for a girl that acts unbelievably cute that shouldn’t be acting that way at her age is known as a Kawaiiko, or literally cute child. I have heard so many different voices of kawaiiko in the real world and it makes me cringe. If that’s their intent, they’re doing it well. I also include this phrase in the tags for Mine.
A phrase that I most commonly have heard from @thebunnyofevil is “Green-Eyed Monster”. They are people that are part of a love triangle and assume the worst in their competitor, or lack thereof. They’re presumptuous and do things that they wouldn’t normally do…out of love. It’s a shame that some people feel this way, but Mine is no exception. I may delve deeper into this at another time.
This may have spoilers for some of the routes, so please read with precaution. I’ll try not to give too much away.
My way of thinking is that in each route, some of the characters will have different personalities than in other routes. The only exception to this is Manager Waka (THE CUSTOMER IS THE ENEMY) between Heart World and Diamond World. But then again, we don’t see enough of him to know for certain if this is accurate.
This may go without saying, but the only particular routes where we see a change in character with Mine are in Spade and Clover. In Spade Route, she has a clear crush on Ikki. When she confesses and things don’t go well, she runs off and blames you. We unfortunately don’t see enough of Mine in Diamond, but we do know that she worries about you, given that she’s one of the people trying to message Kimi while she’s in Toma’s custody.
When you think about it, Mine may very well be the most honest with Kimi during Clover World. She shows a slightly jealous side and almost condescending side to her that runs solely on a misunderstanding. I actually liked that I got to see this side of her. It was great tension for a route that didn’t have a whole lot of angst. And especially if you played Toma’s route first, Kent’s is a big sigh of relief.
Now, I’d like to show you a particular image.
He makes this face when Mine compliments his personality, and it’s so cute!
I can confirm with 100% certainty based on Heart World and Clover World that Mine has feelings for him.
AND WHO CAN FUCKING BLAME HER?!
I’ll talk about that at another time, but let’s get back to Mine.
Each route, Mine is different in some way, shape or form.
♡: Perhaps the most caring side of Mine. She was the first one to tell Waka of the accident during their trip. A bit whiney, but kind all the same.
♤: Trying too hard to get attention. Sensitive. Influenced by rumors.
♢: Definitely concerned for Kimi, but not enough to go to her house and see what the hell is going on.
♧ : THIS IS A BIT BULKY. SHE IS A COMPLICATED INDIVIDUAL!
Before reveal: Jealous. Competitive. Condescending and cold toward Kimi. How she treats Toma depends on her mood. Appears terrified of Waka until Kimi changes her routine. She apologizes to him.
She actually goes through some stages of grief that day, too. Denial until Waka tells her to learn from Kimi, Anger from Toma’s efforts, bargaining with Kimi based on the misunderstanding, then bargaining that she’s the better choice for her crush.
She offers a date to her crush and uses the excuse of an employee event. Plus she wants to see that upper body. Regardless, a festival takes place and she has a Green-Eyed Epiphany by spending time talking with the person she’s interested in.
After reveal: What I absolutely love about her jealous side is that she’s actually most likely smarter in this route than the other routes because of it…but it’s wasted effort, let’s be honest. It turns out that the blunt, scary, stubborn guy she wants to go out with is WAKA, not Kent. The shock on her face is absolutely priceless! After that, you’re immediately friends and even have a sleepover with her and Sawa. BESTIES! YAAAAAY!
Joker: Very blunt. Motherly. (She confirms that she has a little brother.) She clearly likes Ikki but is more direct about it and less…sinister.
