"I'm sick of people giving meds a bad rep.."
People are allowed to talk about their bad experiences with medication that didn't work for them.
People are allowed to make songs and sing about how the wrong medication made them feel worse
Glad you wanna talk about the positives and found meds that work for you, Im struggling to take mine consistently but I found meds that work for me too and I'm happy to hear about other positive experiences.
However many of us went through a lot of bad trial and error to get to the positives and it's important we get it off our chest and acknowledge the negative sides of being medicated.
Especially when there's people who are considering getting medication for the first time and might not know or understand the risks regardless of whether or not they've talked to a doctor or pharmacist yet.
You can talk about your good experiences without complaining about other people and their negative experiences. It's not giving medicine a bad rep its genuinely helpful information at most and a random story about it you heard at the least.
You can't generalize all medications by a few negitive experiences you heard or because a handful of songs mentioned a doctor prescribing meds in the lyrics
There's several different medications with their own pros and cons of effects
If you were specifying the reputation of something like prednisone because it helped you and you're tired of people talking negitively about it and worried it might scare others away from taking it when it might help them, that would be a lot more understandable
But medication in general has always been a grey area of a topic with no discernable good or bad rep, if it does it's specific casses or portrayal and even then it's still not the fault of people sharing the experience they had with medication.
Also, your therapist probably shouldn't be prescribing you any medication without a psychiatrist, those are two different professions.
