( for @spcesent​ ! ) we haven’t interacted yet but you are another presence i love seeing on my dash. there is such gentleness to your luther & the antics you share with the diego’s & klaus’s you write with are a blast to read ! you have wonderful understanding of your muse & i look forward what you continue to bring to him !

ben doesn’t like the assumed implication that he will have to use his power. it’s been years and he’s… torn. on the one hand, this is what they were raised for. wasn’t it? this is why they were brought together. adopted. their purpose.       — on the other, he’d left so he could separate himself from the creatures hidden in his void. he left so they wouldn’t be the end of him. ( he can hear them whispering in his dreams and it scares him still ). he left so he could live.       ❝ i — ❞   he hesitates. some part of his mind fights back. supplies: if you could live your life, why shouldn’t everyone else? it’s selfish. not to take the chance. trading one life for the many. to save the world. and ben always was a people pleaser. HE  ISN’T  SILLY  FOR  THINKING  THAT  ,   NOT  WHEN  HE’S  SUFFERED  AS  MUCH  AS  THE  REST  OF  THEM  .   even  when  she  was  never  designed  to  make  her  children  want  her  approval  ,   luther  still  stands  in  need  of  it  .   grace  can’t  smile  ,   can’t  even  pretend  this  is  some  kind  of  terrible  joke  .   for  him  ,   it’s  painfully  real  .

          frustration   takes   root   in   her   ,   an   ugly   and   furious   color   branded   to   her   eyelids.   teeth   dig   into   her   tongue   ,   drawing   copper   into   her   mouth   ,   not   because   what   lies   behind   pretty   lips   is   cutting   but   because   it   is   useless.   her   voice   ,   her   tone.   poetic   justices   ,   she’ll   later   think.   they   cannot   rip   the   way   she   wants   them   to   so   she   hopes   her   point   is   conveyed   in   the   sharp   slam   of   her   notepad   and   the   angry   scrawl   of   her   letters   ,   black   on   yellow.   her   tip   has   torn   through   fragile   paper   at   some   points   and   she   thrusts   it   to   his   chest.   more   than   frustration   in   her   ,   is   hurt.   they’ve   gone   through   so   much   ,   for    this   ?    to   not   communicate   and   pull   brash   decisions   ?   fuck   that.          ❛   you   can’t   or   you   won’t   ?   ❜

at first, he can't quite seem to bring himself to let go. it's not until he realizes that his fingers are leaving deep red marks on klaus's upper arms that he forces himself to release him, trembling hands hovering over the still frame below him instead, searching for something, anything to do that will correct this, bring him back. "klaus, you can't - i - you / can't, / please -"

Klaus is dead, how’s your muse feeling about that?

luther doesn't, at first, know how to react. he's not known dave more than a few months, and yet - the other man had integrated so easily into their dysfunctional family, has seemed to instill a happiness in klaus that has never been there before, and now he's gone with no clear indication what had happened, who had done this. hot tears, though born out of anger or sorrow luther isn't sure, prick at the backs of his eyes and he blinks them back, instead leaning down to pull the man up ( 1 / 2 )

into strong arms, bring him back to the academy, because he'll be damned if he'll just leave him here rather than bringing him back to klaus and giving his brother a chance to bid dave goodbye a second time. ( 2 / 2 )
