Grant receives a distress signal from Kara after she escapes imprisonment by SHIELD.

This is the fanfic I was talking about last week and then asked for a beta reader last night. (thanks @alkenifanfiction!!!) It’s sort of a re-write of the Grant/Kara arc in the last three episodes of Season 2, something that’s been rolling around for a while in my head. Just a little warning, though, if the title doesn’t give it away - still not really a happy ending! But I hope it’s a little more satisfying.

I don't know if I should be posting this but I read something earlier and it's been bothering me so I'm gonna go ahead and say it. What I read was "We have never seen Ward or Skye in a romantic relationship" And I just have to disagree. We've seen Skye in a relationship with Miles. It was short and she was mad at him half the time but we got to see it. But this post isn't about Skye. It's about Ward. In the last few episodes, we have seen Ward in a relationship. With Kara. Yes, the development was offscreen and the overall bad plot didn't help either, but despite all that, we saw that Ward genuinely cared about Kara. He was in it, hundred percent. He wanted to give them the chance. He wanted Kara to get closure, help her heal, so they could be together. Just like he promised her. We never really knew the real Grant Ward. The 'socially awkward Agent Ward' was a cover, so we can't say that Ward doesn't do public displays of affection. We just don't know that. I know alot of people didn't like it, didn't ship it, some even thought it unhealthy but none of that changes the fact that we got to see Ward care so much about someone, give up his freedom to come and get her, shared every bit of his past with her, bought her a bloody cactus and used an innuendo to offer her to teach her how to fly. We knew the relationship was doomed and the writers did end up ruining it, but in those brief moments we got to see Ward this close to being in love with someone and I think that was beautiful!

So I watched AOS. In which the team continue to be self-righteous hypocrites but I don’t really care because I love Ward and Kara and how much they care for each other and for now, that’s enough.

I would like to like and respect the team again in the future though. They’re making that pretty hard right now.

Okay, we all know why grant wants to go to that base. 

He wants help to be a werewolf so he can turn into a puppy! 

DUH!

(Kara knows its never gonna happen but shes humoring him)

(And if it does he will totally stop taking up the whole bed and launching a battle for the sheets. and he would totally be a cutie puppy)

(And she’ll totally turn into a werecat and hes totally gonna end up gently tugging on her ear and tail to get her attention and giving her literal puppy dog eyes!)
