Jemma: hey! Doctor’s advice here. Stay at home as much as you can, wash your hands very well and wear a mask if you have any kind of sickness and have to leave home. It will keep the others safe. We are working on a cure here!

Ward: *is really not convinced that Michael did not cause that somehow* Alright everyone. The good news is that it’s not Alien or ancient or inhuman or Hydra….probably The bad news is that we are screwed anyhow. We stay inside. We maintain our hygiene. We do not go out unless we have a reason to. These are the orders and we follow them *warning glare to Michael and Skye* Also I would very much like it if I wasn’t quarantined in vault D. Thank you 

Fitz: We are working very hard on finding a cure or an antidote. Til then. Stay inside. Stay safe. Wash your hands. Look out for the ones who needed the most. We are all in this together and we are gonna go through this together. 

Hunter: Guys what’s going on. I was taking a nap and now everyone is freaking out and people are dying! So don’t die out there and don’t GO out here….Bloody Hell…. This is a nightmare.

Ward sighed. His time in SHIELD had definitely given him some expertise on weird, but the way people described things some times was just ridiculous. “As I said many times in the past, I don’t chase after ghost stories. Malick and his merry bunch are free to believe whatever they want. It doesn’t make it true.”

Kara turned to him and it felt like her whole world crumbled on her. She should’ve known- she told herself that, he had to get tired of her before or later. He couldn’t take care of her forever. She was needy and broken and… it was about time he found someone worth him. But she was heartbroken. “H-how… you… for how long?” she swallowed hardly, unable to believe what was happening.

.Bobbi looked at Skye as she talked. She seemed almost eager to help. And that served as a reminder of what they were supposed to be doing. Help the ones who needed help. That was what SHIELD was all about. Somehow they had lost their perspective when it all came crashing down. Survival came before everything. But at what cost? She turned to look at Kara too. She knew that she owed her. She had tried to apologize before, and now she had a chance to settle it. SO she nodded in agreement. Even if Ward was crazy, he cared about someone enough to throw all his life away.

Simmons looked at Fitz again. She wanted to help, she even admitted that she had an idea of how to do it. But she didn’t want it to come at the expense of Fitz’s mental health. “I need to know that you are alright with that. You don’t have to help if you don’t want to. I just don’t want it to feel bad.” She put her hand on his shoulder and Fitz held it. At least this time she was real and she was by his side.

“I don’t know Jemma. The whole thing seems messed up.” he looked down still holding her hand. “I know that if I see him again I will want to punch him in the face. But it makes no sense to punch someone in the face when he has no idea of who you are, right?” He said looking around. He always believed that Ward was seeing him like a little brother. Like he was almost trying to restore something he lost. His glance stopped at Kara. “I….I’ll help. But you need to tell me one thing. Did he ever talk about us? About me and Simmons. And the pod.” He didn’t believe Ward when he told him that he was trying to save them. But maybe now he was ready to hear the truth.

Simmons took a deep breath and waited. No one else from the group expressed any kind of disagreement to the plan so it was mostly up to her to explain her plan to them.

“Well, I was thinking that we can’t find Ward by ourselves. Not if he doesn’t want to be found. So it’s best if we let him come to us. Just as he agreed to do.”

Kara held her breath. It was working, it was really working. Somehow, the team that had seemed to hate Grant so much was willing to not let such monstrosity happen to him. And there they were, Fitz and Simmons- being together, caring about each other, holding hands for support. Fitz was the one who had been hurt the most. Grant had told her, of course he did. And she was surprised to hear that Fitz agreed to help too. Maybe, maybe- he still cared about him. Maybe Grant still had a place there. They had been his family once, he had told her...

“Of course he did.” Kara replied once Fitz spoke, looking at him. There was sadness in her eyes. “He told me everything of what he did, to survive. Of how this team was the family he never had. And when the whole thing with Hydra went down.. he knew there was someone ready to shoot both of you. He didn’t want that to happen.” The memory of Grant talking about it with her was clear. It was one of the things that hit her the most, the hard choices he had had to go through. Choices that almost no one would understand....

“There was a small chance of surviving it and... he did what was needed. He also relied on the fact that the two of you are very clever. If there was someone who could make it, it was you. And... I am glad you made it. He was too... if that matters.” Kara took a deep breath. She hoped it didn’t sound like something she would make up to please them. She was speaking the truth, as she had done so far.

“...I don’t want anyone else to know about our plan. When he’s going to come here, I’ll take him with me and we will disappear.. leave you alone... if he wants to come with me, of course.” She held her hands together. “We will be no bother.”

I promise you, I am not gonna die any time soon. Things might be fucked up at the moment, but I have a lot of reasons to live. *looks at her*

*the touch of his hand on her shoulder makes her calm down a bit more* …thank you. For saying that. *looks back at him realizing the weight of his words, gives him a smile* I’ll be waiting. And if you need me.. just let me know. No one can stand between us. *plulls out the pumpkin pancakes*
