one of my favourite genre's of music
idk why but the very specific trope of Fully Grown German Man Who Doesn't Have A Clue What's Going On has my heart and soul
Oddly specific tropes I'm in love with:
A lullaby sung in a character's childhood becomes a great deal of help and/or comfort for said character as an adult.
A character shouts "Enough!" and either exhibits an intimidatingly god-like array of power or commands the attention of everyone present. Either way, everything pauses and/or changes for a moment.
In a moment of great need and/or when all hope seems lost, a character displays an instance of unfathomable power and saves the day (at least for a moment) then passes out from exertion. Bonus points if said character didn't know they had that kind of strength.
Any variation of "May I kiss you?"
"If (so and so) wasn't happening right now, I'd kiss you" and they kiss anyway.
A character that's deemed untouchable and uninfluenced by any force is suddenly at their antagonist's mercy because said antagonist took the one thing/person they secretly care about.
Bonus: A character just casually walks away after doing something intense, badass, and/or horrifying. Doubly cool if they're whistling.
Highly specific tropes I love for no reason
Character A who was hiding their original gender for one reason or another (maybe is trans and unable to transition), and Chatacter B being supportive anyway after they find out
Characters dancing and when they split up they each up dancing with a respective enemy
Character A and Character B are from vastly different cultures, but they're stuck in a dangerous situation in a third culture neither know anything about
Character A is from a hot climate and Chatacter B is from a cold climate, Character C is just trying to touch the thermostat
Evil and deadly intimidating character who loves one type of pet a little too much
Character A is a member of a very fertile species, and is now lovingly introducing Character B to their family
Character A and Character B who just got done fighting each other and are now going out for ice cream
Villain who is smol
Person A who secretly has a lot of trauma but puts up an upbeat face and Person B who openly has a lot of trauma but puts on a standoffish face and A is always annoying B by being really happy-go-lucky and making lots of jokes even though everyone hates B but then something big happens where A has a breakdown and reveals that they’re not actually okay and B has to comfort them which is when they realise that they actually loved them all along.
my favourite genre is women setting fire to their tormentor's homes/buildings and then walking out surrounded by flames
specific tropes i love: shared dreams
We're not supposed to be, Jules. That's the whole point. [They] performed a ritual to sever this hold you have on me. Then why are you in my dream?
specific tropes i love: ending up on opposing sides, even if the love's still there
Two birds on a wire One tries to fly away And the other...
