Lucky Luke is known to be shooting faster than his shadow. But how fast is that?
First of all, since light travels at a certain speed, actually everyone and everything is faster than his own shadow or more specifically the movement of your shadow starts with a very very short delay to you. But in this picture you can see, lucky luke shot his shadow before the shadow even startet its movement. So how fast does he have to be, for this picture to be correct?
Light travelles at 299,702,547 meters per second in air and he is standing about 3 meters away from the fence (actually more like 2,5m but we give him some more time)
So this means:
3m ÷ 299,702,547m/s = ca. 0.00000001 sec. Or 10 nanoseconds.
