Practiced some possible spell effects for my sorcerer. Starsoul, so: loosely aurora borealis themed, like a little bit more fluent in both colours and shapes - and it’s basically the bi flag palette, so works with me!

Generally I’m pretty okay with this for a first shot at magic effects :>

How does spell effect chaining work?

For example, what if you were trying to levitate a satellite into (geosynchronous) orbit? 

It is understood that each witch or wizard has limited power, so their spells are only effective over a limited range (and mass). But, imagine this:

One witch/wizard levitates the satellite to their maximum comfortable range

Another witch/wizard levitates the first to their maximum comfortable range (satellite at range x2)

Another witch/wizard levitates the second, who is still levitating the first (satellite at range x3)

Continue as necessary

Would this work?

My thought is that, theoretically, it would. Distance limits are non-cumulative, caused more by dispersion effects. The spell effects last only between the object and the wand which casts the spell. Move the wand closer to the target, the spell can get closer to it.

Where the theory falls down, is when you factor in mass. The first witch/wizard is only lifting the weight of the satellite; easy enough. The second is lifting the weight of the first, and the satellite; harder. The third witch/wizard is lifting the second witch/wizard, and the first witch/wizard, and the satellite... you see the problem developing.

Each witch/wizard is bracing themselves against the magic of the one below, so the ‘anchor’ has to be able to lift the mass of the entire chain.

Before You Speak Curse Update

It started to show effect after about two weeks after I started it, and it seems to be working pretty well. I'm still lighting candles for it, since it's for a friend of mine, a sister, I want to make sure it really works for her sake.
