saw your design on light spell punks: here's how i would rework some of the others if ssa gets a remake
air: the speed buffs from swap force
tech: spawns turrets that last about 20 seconds or until the summoner is defeated [the sky beams make more sense on light spell punks as you think]
undead: summons undead trolls like in swap force [and rhu-babies would instead feast on other enemies to grow]
fire: damage buffs upon other enemies
magic: renders other enemies invisible
dark: forms an umbral vortex around itself dragging the skylander inward and damaging them harder the closer they are to the eye
Ooooo yeah I like these a lot. Fire being a stat buff type of Spell Punk isn't what I would have expected, but I dig it!
Though as a bonus, maybe all support spell punks have a basic weak "orb" attack aside from their main spell. That way they aren't that helpless without other enemies around. That way Fire still has their fireballs and such.
Maybe fire has the fireball
Instead of a green orb, the life spell punk throws an acorn
Air throws a small tornado
And Magic throws the glowy orb
