The Quesadilla Bun Burger is a tasty mix of American and Mexican flavors. It doesn't have burger buns, but instead has seasoned ground beef patties between two crispy, cheesy quesadillas. Served with a spicy salsa and a smooth taco sauce, this burger is a delight for the taste buds.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 4 flour tortillas. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. 1/2 cup diced red onion. 1/2 cup diced tomato. 1/4 cup chopped cilantro. 1/4 cup sliced pickled jalapeos. 1/4 cup sour cream. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon taco seasoning. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well and form into 4 burger patties. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. While the burgers are cooking, heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place a flour tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Top with another tortilla and cook until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat for the remaining tortillas and cheese. In a small bowl, mix together diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, and sliced pickled jalapeos to make a salsa topping. In another small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning to make a creamy sauce. To assemble the burgers, place a quesadilla on a plate, add a grilled burger patty on top, and then spoon some of the salsa topping over the burger. Drizzle with the creamy sauce and top with another quesadilla. Serve the Quesadilla Bun Burgers immediately and enjoy!
