Caring For A Spiderfolk

Here is a thing I was working on and why I asked poor Wakey quite a few questions. If anything is wrong, please let me know! Even if this is an Alternate Timeline, I want it to be accurate still.

The time period is around where DJ is roughly a child. In human years... maybe eight? Or something? And he has reached the height of a human.

This is a gift to @wakebymoonsleepbysun because I had a random inspiration for this. X,D So... if they do not approve of this, I will take it down. But please.. read their writing if you have not. It is amazing!

When it comes to Spiderfolk, spiderling and spidertaur, what would be something poachers would have a reason to hunt them? I could only think of two things, Their venom, maybe blood like dragon's blood for eternal life, or even their exoskeleton due to thickness. But you also got possibly their fur. o3o'

Hmm interesting question! Venom is the first thing that comes to mind for me too. Or possibly the fangs themselves, as they could be used to make poison-infused weapons. Exoskeleton for armor is also a good option. Fur...I'm not completely sure. I don't think you could get like...a pelt from them the way you would from furred mammals IRL but that really depends on how you explain their physiology.

Though, dark thought, their silk might be valuable too, so capturing a live spider might prove more valuable than killing one. Though it could also be a situation where the parents are killed and the child is captured (or attempted to be captured) with the intent of raising them in captivity.
