On the left, mindflayer! They stun, they fly, they read minds, they magically dominate, and they grapple! They're also hyperintelligent, usually part of a hive mind, and around 6 ft (1.8 m) tall (though varying based on the creature they spawned from). BG3 has proven I don't need to sell this one.

On the right, Spined Devil! 2-3 ft (60-91 cm) tall with special tail spines that burst into flame when broken off! sidenote, stuff like this is why I always put the sizes. I never would've guessed these were a solid foot shorter than the average gnome.
