Some "Basic" Troubleshooting For Identifying Entities and Spirits (Part One)
Some simple troubleshooting for identifying spirits. Because you won't be able to identify any being based on appearance alone. Physical / projected appearance is never reliable. Ever. Don't trust it. You will have to engage with and speak to it.
measure regional and ethnic dialogue
measure and gauge general connections to structures and responses to environment
measure time and day behaviours
measure incremental engagement
ask questions. Not like "what are you" but things like: "Under what conditions were you first able to act?" "What existed before you noticed yourself?" "What must exist for you to exist?"
Pay attention to some details such as:
Evasion vs. metaphor
Circular answers ("I have always been" type stuff)
Answers that anchor to process instead of event
Gauge the entity's relationship to time as well. This is always very telling Ask things like: "Do you experience change as loss?" "What does ‘before’ mean to you?" "Can you remember something you no longer are?" "Do you anticipate, or only respond?"
If the answers flatten time ("all is now" kind of crap), you can press with questions like: "Then why speak sequentially?"
Check for boundaries as well: Power is always limited somehow. Always. Ask questions such as: "Where does your influence fail?" "What are you not permitted to alter?" "Who can command you; and who cannot?" "What happens if you refuse a request?"
Why does this work you may ask? But limits define classification. Angels have jurisdiction. Dead have attachment points. Thoughtforms have fuel constraints from whoever made them. Things from Outside have rules they didn’t write. Everything exists with degrees of environmental storytelling.
A very important follow-up question you can use: "Is that limit inherent, imposed, or chosen?"
Also examine things like costs, exchanges, and their appetites.
Never ask what they want. Ask what changes. Ask these questions: "What increases when you act?" "What diminishes when you are denied?" "What sustains you without effort?' 'What harms you unintentionally?"
What you are looking for: Predators talk about hunger. Gods talk about imbalance. Constructs talk about completion. The dead talk about relief. Parasites usually dodge the question entirely.
If they claim they don't need or gain anything. Then ask: "Then why engage at all?"
This is just some surface level kind of questions to get you started. Some "basics" so to speak.
