Theres no “half jotun” it’s more like an out group. You’re either one of the cool kids (Aesir) one of the lesser cool but still pretty cool kids (Vanir) or one of the non-cool kids (jotunar)
The Jotunar are not bad, nor are they good. They just are. They are natural, they are nature, primordial, keepers of the secrets of life and death, and everything in between. They are the sun that makes your day warm and brings light, but they are also the sun who burns your skin and kill you. They are the animals who we appreciate and love, habitants of the forests that we love to watch but they also are the animals who attack and kill you. They are beautiful sea, but they also are the deep scary dangerous ocean. They are our ancestors, they are protectors but also destroyers. They are a chaos of change. They are the wild, with so much knowledge, love, hate, anger, sadness, courage, diseases, health, danger, safety, and everything the natural world can offer.
Jotunar will never bow, will never disapear. Hail the jotuns, hail nature!
You know, if we get to see Jotun Loki in a trailer, even for just a sec, that’s when I’ll go “askgjsagklggjh 👀🥺”. Even if it ends up being just a sec in the series too, that’s still more than I’ve expected
As the title might suggest, this post is totally NSFW. So, read below the cut and youngsters move on!
So after my little drabble celebration I encountered some questions regarding the Jotunar and the way they have sex. I wanted to make a drabble where the reader was a Jotun just like Loki but I got stuck because I had to think how Jotunar would have sex with each other. One thing led to another, so here I am with a head-canon on how Frost Giants have sex and because it is a long head-canon (of course, I would ever be able to write something short) I just decided to give them headings.
Animalistic
First of all I think Jotunar are very animalistic in their ways. This would mean that their intercourse contains a lot of biting and scratching, even to a point where they draw blood - if one likes that specific trait would depend on the individual I think, but overall not many of them will be deterred by it. This means stuff can get a little messy/gory.
BDSM, Toys and pain
And that brought me to the second brainwave; BDSM and toys. I don’t think they are even familiar with the concept, mostly because they don’t have whips (the leather and furs way to precious and scarce to mar it to make it in such an object) and since there is no electricity and thus no batteries, things as vibrators and other toys are ruled out as well. It had me thinking though that they are able to create ice with their hands which they can shape in any way they like and might be shaped into something that can be inserted.
Inflicting pain however, or the dom-sub relationship is probably something they are familiar with, the latter mostly because they have strict hierarchy and therefore once dominance is also something that resonances in the bedroom (or cave). The wish to inflict pain on another is also a trait of this dominance, as is rebelling to the cause. The wish of receiving pain is probably a bare minimum and highly depended on the individual because their way of life will always be survival of the fittest, and submitting oneself to another could (and probably would) be seen as a sign of weakness.
Honor
This striving and alpha-behavior brings me to the next part: honor. I think it is considered a high honor to have sex with the reigning king or queen, and the lower you are in this society, the higher the honor if someone above them in ranking would pick them to have intercourse with - whether they want it or not. This means that hunters or exceptional good fighters will sooner have the honor to bed the King or Queen, and that for those who are lower in hierarchy it is an honor to bed afore mentioned hunter or fighter.
Lust and reproducing
But I think there is a slight difference between bedding one for lust and for reproducing, whereas for lust those stronger hunters and fighters just take what they want but to reproduce they would likely find a strong (fe)male to make sure their offspring is strong as well. Because weak Giants don’t survive Jotunheim.
Slaves
Slaves for sex may sound a little weird to their strict hierarchical world, and maybe it doesn’t fit all the way, but it can be more perceived as punishment for a crime (if they aren’t killed straight away) or as a gift to a high-ranking member of society. This might give one a status symbol; more slaves/pets means a higher respect. I don’t think the slaves aren’t looked after very well and it is a constant survival of the fittest where even among slaves there is a strict hierarchy and they would just try to fuck their way to the top. (just like most societies on this regard)
Sex between same sexes
Sex between the same sexes isn’t frowned upon or seen as an issue of any sorts and therefore they are unfamiliar with terms such as ‘gay’, ‘bi’ or every other label humans love to use. They just take what they want (more explicit whoever they want) and this also is connected with the honor and/or slave part.
Primal lust
Or as I like to call it: the heat. I once read a fic where Loki had the heat and where the reader was brought to him while in is glassy cell in the Avengers and he just had his way with her, his lust unquenchable. I really like this idea because in my mind the Jotunar are primal beings and it makes very much sense when it come to reproducing. When one of the females would be fertile she could get the heat, but in that same regard the males might pick up on this and experience the same heat to reproduce. Their lust unquenchable and just taking what they want until the heat deprives which can be a matter of days or even weeks. (For the life of me I can’t find the fic nor the writer, so if you are reading this, please let me know so I can give you the proper mention in this post! Markings on their skin
Yeah, this one where in a lot of fics the writer writes that the ridged markings on Loki’s skin are extra sensitive and add to the pleasure during sex. I think that could be true, and that scratching and biting of them during intercourse gets even more interesting. The other option is that the ridges are some part of exoskeleton and the feeling on those markings is even less than the rest of their skin. I don’t have any solid reasons why either of these options should be true, but I wanted to mention it and I’m just going to leave this in the middle. What I do think however, is that those markings are all over their body, and then I mean all over their body. Talking about pleasure!
Interspecies sex
With all the above said and done, how would this all compare to when a Jotunar has sex with another race, like a human. I think a human would be in dire trouble, especially when they have the heat, because their way can be too rough, let alone that they are taller and bigger creatures in every way. The same would go for a light-elf or other humanoid creatures that are shorter or weaker build than the Frost Giants. In regard to the Aesir, well, when we talk about the Gods I think they would be able to hold up fine, even enjoy it, if we’re talking about ‘lower’ Aesir they are in trouble.
To sum it up...
I think that Jotunar are very primal beings (compared to some other races) with a strict hierarchy and that resonates in their sex-life. They make a distinct difference between lust and reproducing and the latter can be even impute due to their primal lust.
How this all compares to Loki... Well, you can fill in those blanks yourself but I think most of it is the same way except that he has more control in his Aesir form.
