You've inspired me to make my own splintmail armor. My only issue is how to craft it.. for a female. Any advice on figuring out all the parts/materials other than by eye on the game? Is it fabric or chainmail? It's tougher than I thought. Thank you!
For starters, welcome to the ranks! I’m always happy to hear of people taking up the mantle of trying to cosplay from BioWare’s incredibly intricate character designs.
I’m not going to assume you’re aware of it, but I do have a(permenantly WIP) tutorial out there on how I made my own splintmail for Alistair. You can find that here: Alistair Cosplay Tutuorial
As for converting it to a female version, when forming the breastplate part of the cuirass, you might be able to take a page from the FemShep cosplayers and use a heat gun to heat up foam and press it over bowls or something hemispherical to get the bust shape out of the armor(scroll down a bit on the link). Once that’s set, just glue your splints right over it to get the proper ladies’ splintmail look.
