sorry this is destiel posting but anyways

i think, after cas goes all godstiel at the beginning of season 7 and then, yk, dies, dean looks at himself in the mirror and notices. the scar. the hand scar thing. its gone. idk how but its gone.

and his legs are shaky and he sits down and he's got cas's fuckin blood stained trenchcoat in his hands, and he looks down at it, and thats all he has left of him. it used to be that he'd carry a bit of cas around wherever he went, but now. all he's got is some fuckin dirty coat and the memory of not-cas tilting his head and he's so much like cas and he's not.

and at this point, dean doesnt really know how to feel about cas. so he sort of just sits there, in that dirty motel bathroom, and tries so hard not to cry. everything feels dried out and aching and cracked. and he decides cas is family, maybe. probably thats what he is. so cas, or what's left of him, goes where family goes: the impala.

what's left of dean keeps the trenchcoat in the back of his car, and he gives it back to cas when he comes back.

dean hopes cas doesnt ask why he still had the trenchcoat. he doesnt want it to get weird.
