Today's post is a mix of tricks and treats - well, one trick, as Heather unlocked the skillful sleep mastery perk and isn't really a ghost. But she unlocked it in the perfect season, and chose the apothecary skill to work on while she slept.
Under the cut, check out some holiday treats: see how Pearl celebrated Spooky Day while Ash was making mistakes at Arun Kalani's party, some more Sims In Bloom fam holiday fun, and witness the basic disaster that was my attempt to throw a Spooky Day party at home while also celebrating Lavender's teen birthday (the real treat!)
Pearl spent Spooky Season in the city, and the whole crew dressed up in costumes they would never wear on stage. Reppin' the Resistance (despite how much I wanted to dress Charlie as Darth Maul) we have, from left to right:
Elyse Rockwell, who you may remember from Nancy's first in-game trip to the ballet school way back in January - Elyse is now a teacher of young students at the ballet school full time, and has a son, Colin, with her husband, Rohan, in @changingplumbob's SBL Legacy! Daniela Delarosa we love, of course, Charlie Wise we hate, of course, Pearl Richards (our stubborn queen!), Connor Kibo, San My's prinicipal dancer and Charlie's not-so-secret competition for top roles, Katrina Martinez, our resident dancing spellcaster, Natasha Lobo, who has become one of the more versatile dancers with San Myshuno Ballet Company, able to take on and master any role for any reason, and Marina Glumova, San My Ballet Company's executive director, fresh back from maternity leave.
Neal and Daisy, the Bells, and Hazel and Suri had to miss the party - Neal and Daisy stayed in Henford with River and Cass' kids dressed as firefighters, while the Bells stuck to the city for their celebrations this year. But with both Betta and Marlin aging up recently, and all that 1920s cc still in my mods folder from the time travel arc, I had to get a family photo and dress them up since I was already in CAS!
Though local, Hazel and Suri were busy at the Salty Paw's bar, which is always packed on Spooky Night. But that doesn't mean they didn't get into the spirit of the season and dress like ranchers and cowboys with their now-toddler son, Sage!
And a bonus (costume-adjacent) shot of toddler Tori Nesbitt, River and Cass' youngest who recently aged up, in her fairy jumper - with wings. She's adorable. Belonged here.
And now some highlights (lowlights?) from Conrad and Heather's Spooky Day party. First, they invited everyone's favourite auntie Iseul Kang @purplesimmer455, because why not? They know her, she's in the save, and I wanted to say hey. Ever the social butterfly that she is, she of course was first to arrive. And she brought candy!
As you can see with Everett Pancakes and Katrina Martinez, there's an issue with headgear and costumes in my game. I don't know if it's a common glitch or mod-related, but Everett's in Star Wars on the bottom, and Roman gladiator on top, while Katrina's Leia buns are missing. Mailman Mortimer Goth is not impressed.
But everyone in the Goth family is excited for this coming week, which will include a gathering for Dia de Muertos at Bella's mansion and the elaborate wedding of Dexter and Katrina at a gorgeous conservatory later in the week!
Weddings are always nice, but it will also be the first time Ash sees Pearl after the fight, engagement, lost virginity to Scotti...anticipate some angst, but they won't steal the bride and groom's thunder!
I tried to find a Spider-Man costume for Roan that wasn't behind a paywall and couldn't do it, so his perfect costume will have to wait another life stage or two. In search of variety, I dressed Iris as a princess.
As you can see, Iris is enjoying a piece of zombie cake, which felt like the most appropriate birthday cake to make for a Spooky Day birthday party. Iseul was a fan, bringing the hype for Lavender's candle moment!
So now, the treat: Meet teenage Lavender Helena Gordon, Gen 3 heir. A perfectionist and a loner who's going to test my usual propensity for large sim families and lots of friends for an entire generation while she knits to her heart's content, she still has her parents' determination to break curses, save Karla, and who knows what other adventures will mark her life! Knowing me? Plenty!
She's always enjoyed time to herself and has been less comfortable in crowds, but we've seen her be very outgoing - until puberty, anxieties, and recent embarrassment in public grew a bit of a shell around her.
But this is a legacy, so what will she become, and who will be the one she welcomes into her perfect world? ->
