During my surgery recovery I was told to walk as often as I could. Pikmin bloom is genuinely the only thing that got me out of the house.
A couple years later I was back to my “exercise 0 times a year” lifestyle. But Pokémon go changed that.
I walk 3-5 times a week on a good week. 0-1 on a bad one. But that’s not a big deal because it’s not like there’s an evil curse that says I must exercise consistently to be worthy of health.
I drive about 4 minutes to an area with a lot of poke stops and do a 20 minute walk. Sometimes only 10 if I’m tired.
I’m chronically ill and every joint in my body hurts but I know that having a bit of muscle will save me some pain in the long run. I’m only 25 after all.
I’ve been playing Pokémon go for months now and my health is all the better for it. If you haven’t played since the summer of Pokémon go I recommend trying it again. There’s a big event this weekend too!
It’s also become an activity I do with my partner. We have Pokémon go dates where we walk and chat and catch pokes.
If Pokémon go feels too high pressure, I recommend Pikmin bloom. It’s a lot simpler.
If it doesn’t work no big deal. But I recommend anyone who wants to exercise more to try some 10 minute Pokémon walks. See what it does for you!
