Existing is exhausting. Add in a chronic illness, or any other number of variety of factors, the quicker you reach exhaustion. Be honest with yourself on how much you can actually do in a day and prioritize what needs to get done based on what’s most important to you and your health. Don’t listen to the guilt that might come from not being able to maintain a superhuman schedule. • • Need to give your energy to your day job but you’re too tired to go out with friends later? That’s fine. Take the day to spend time with family but you’re too tired to do housework after? More than okay. Only have the energy to make yourself something to eat before you have to go back to bed? Perfect. You’re doing great. • • Only you know your limits. Set boundaries when you need to. Communicate these boundaries and understand that some people in your life might just not get it.
