Ohm headcanon? Ohm headcanons…

He doesn’t own a phone. He only uses his laptop as a device so anything he needs he prints out. Travel confirmations, bills, talking to his editor and publisher through emails. Doesn’t matter what. He doesn’t care about what’s going on at the drop of a hat. If it’s important it’ll be in the paper. No need for a phone for the people he doesn’t talk to in the real world.

Silence is golden. Well before the hotel incident. Now he needs a bit of noise so he doesn’t lose himself in his own thoughts. Usually piano music or white noise.

He spent a week in the psychiatric ward after he attempted suicide. It wasn’t up to him, of course, but since they found him attempting suicide he had to be put on a voluntary psychiatric hold for a week. They gave him meds and released him to go back home.

At first he didn’t take his meds and left it to be thrown out but after his second stent in the hospital from smoke inhalation, he decided to take that small step forward and take them.

He keeps in touch with Alby via email. He enjoyed his manuscript, a pleasant change of events from what he usually writes. He’ll send notes to help him improve his work. Ohm cracks a smile when he finally learns that Alby’s first novel is published in Ireland. He even sends him a signed copy of the book. “Thanks for believing in me” with his name signed

Cat distribution system blessed him on his way home from the airport. A sweet calico found him when stopping to get gas on the way home. Her name is now Fie (short for Fiona) and loves to sleep by his feet when he’s working. He Pavlov trained her to remind him to take his medication.

Any time he travels for work, he carries a box of chalk. Just in case.

We love a mental health king. He started talking to a therapist and psychiatrist via telehealth. Finally being able to unpack his childhood felt good, surprisingly. He had to do something if he quit drinking.

Once a prick, always a prick. Sure he’s still snarky and a bit of a cynical person but he’s been able to keep most of those thoughts internal now. Or he writes it down and maybe uses it in a future novel.
