While my squash may be in peril, I've never seen a squash bug in person before. Quite a lovely creature!

Acanthocoris scabrator

A squash bug from Southeast Asia. It is a known pest insect of squash, eggplant, mango, red pepper, and gooseberry, and lays eggs on Ipomoea carnea, the pink morning glory.
