While my squash may be in peril, I've never seen a squash bug in person before. Quite a lovely creature!

Acanthocoris scabrator
A squash bug from Southeast Asia. It is a known pest insect of squash, eggplant, mango, red pepper, and gooseberry, and lays eggs on Ipomoea carnea, the pink morning glory.

This lil squash bug and his buddies loved hanging out in this tree! There were lots of them when I took this. This one was trying to hide, snapped him anyway :>
