Or, someone had a personal grudge against that one shot of the side of Quint’s boat, because they cut it three separate times.

Apparently, Grasshop getting smacked around is fine in the dub, as long as it’s not the face. The last one was just a pan shot cut short.

I saw someone mention that there were really no adventure-centric Spider Riders fics that are set after the anime (and focus mainly on the canon characters, as opposed to OCs). My first instinct was that they’re wrong, there’s a bunch of those. But now that I think about it, the majority are unfinished stories that have gone so long without an update, I don’t really expect them to ever be finished. Or one-shots, which probably don’t really count. And all of this not even factoring in the quality of the story.
Actually, that’s the sort of fic I would love to write. I’ve wanted to since the show first finished airing. But coming up with something that large-scale has proved to be incredibly difficult, especially keeping it interesting (to both myself and to potential readers) and in the spirit of the actual show. Something people could read and consider it to be a believable sequel. Closest I got was a sequel fic that took place after the Teletoon Corp version, which doesn’t really count either when there are enough notable differences from the actual anime.
But if someone actually pulls this off one day, and actually completes the story, that would be incredible. Since we’re never going to get a real sequel.
