Yesterday we had icy roads. The stable where I both work and have my horse is a bit uphill in a turn. The buildings are on the right side of the road and the pasture is on the left.
One of the girls I work with hit a tree yesterday because she was going too fast (she said she was only 40km/h which is already way too fast for that turn when the road is like that but judging from the damage she was faster) She full on hit a smaller tree, mowed it down, broke through the fence and landed on the pasture. Luckily for her, it was the small tree. That one broke down. A bit more left is a sturdy stake and a bit further is a bigger tree. Both would not have budged. She could have also hit the other cars which would have created a gigantic amount of damage.
Her car was damaged quite a bit but it seems fixable. Problem is her coolant ran out. Right on the pasture. So, that one’s poisoned now. And she has to pay for the damage and got a point in Flensburg.
And I got a call on Sunday morning.
Nothing happened to the girl, aside from a shock, thankfully.
