As much as we joke about it, being overworked is not fun. Being overworked for a long period of time can wreck your health. Take care of yourselves, theater kids.

The sheer number of times this has happened to me at work and in shows I’ve directed is astounding. I have had people come at me for scheduling them at a time they can’t make, when they neglected to tell me about their conflict. I can’t read your mind, and I can’t schedule around something that I don’t know about. It is your responsibility let your director (or whoever is doing the scheduling) know about all of your conflicts and keep them updated if things change.
