Hey yall apparently it's indigenous peoples' day so in honor of that I decided to tell you some lore about

The native American faction in the fantasy Wild West. So the name of the faction is going to be something like the tribal Alliance. Essentially it's a huge number of tribes that have gathered together under the tribal Council which is essentially just the Chiefs of different tribes. Their tarot tree runs from the bottom of Arizona and the border of Mexico right up to the border of Canada. The made up of hundreds of smaller tribes and ethnic groups but their United by one goal which is to stop colonists from taking their lands. There were smaller Alliances in Pacific regions and the tribes were still fighting the colonists long before the Civil War broke out in this world but the Civil War lasts a lot longer and is a lot deadlier for both the South and the North meaning that's the first Nation people were able to band together. They are a neutral faction meaning that they do not serve the Union author confederacy they merely fight to preserve their own interests in this case to stop their land being taken over by the colonists. During the war they align themselves with both the union and the confederacy depending on what they think will help their faction most. There are divides within the first Nation people's of the federation as to which side they should take and there are many Native Americans in this world who are not part of the faction. With some joining others and some choosing to remain factionless. After the war the Americans did still pursue Westward expansion as they did before but given the more United front of the tribes and given that the war was a lot more costly for both sides this took a lot longer. Plus the tribal Alliance was able to harness more Potent magics as well as stealing steampunk technology and getting a better idea of the Tactics used by the US Army. Also Black Hills and respect indigenous Nations and people.

Veiled In Shadow

A flame glows in the East. It flickers in the winds of conflict, but is not extinguished. This flame of hope and courage grows in the hearts of women and men who will no longer stand idly by, watching all they hold dear break asunder under the crushing pressure of evil.

The light bearers carry their flame westward. The path they trod is veiled in shadow. But, where the light reaches, it kindles a new fire in the hearts of others. Those whose eyes were once dimmed by the darkness, see anew. They raise their newly found flame and the light begins to spread, pushing back the darkness.
