a/n: inspired by ‘I Won’t Say (I’m In Love)’ by Alan Menken and David Zippel! i love this song sm. also they’re aged up by a few years!

“thanks, stan” they smile brightly. stanley never liked when people who weren’t in the losers club called him by his nickname, but when y/n said it, it had a ring to it. he liked how each syllable rolled off their tongue, and it felt like he was talking to an angel.

“course” stan breathes out as they walk away gracefully with his part of that math project in their arm. watching them do the simplest thing always makes his heart flutter.

the losers catch onto stanley’s lovesick smile, but only richie is the one to speak up.

“stop eye-fucking them, stan”

the boy with curls snaps his head from his daydream towards his friend. “beep beep richie.” the signature eyeroll and attitude displays onto his features

“i-it’s rude to stare s-stan” bill teased his friend “we all know you’re i-inlove with them”

“we see the way you daydream about them, staring at them at the hallways.” bev starts to tease the bird boy more.

“panic when they wave at you..” eddie, surprisingly, joins in the taunting. “you also gave them your special mechanical pencil, and then said they can keep it.” ben pointed out.

“you’re observant.” stan rolls his hazel eyes “i was just being friendly, and you guys are just thinking too much into it.”

he tries so hard to keep up a tough act, but the losers see right through him.

“c’mon stan, you can’t lie, they are kinda…” richie pokes fun at the boy, trying to get him to admit his liking for their schoolmate by infuriating him. “you won’t even admit you don’t feel at least the tiniest tingle for them?”

“ugh, fine! i admit i’m just a little attracted to them.” he gives in knowing they won’t leave him alone till he does.

“i mean if you say so, but we all know it isn’t ‘little’” mike brings his fingers up, imitating quotation marks.

stanley huffs out an annoyed sigh, ‘so immature’

“as cliché as it sounds, i have romantic feelings for y/n, but never will i admit it to them no matter how much you pester me.” the moment he crosses his arms, he already knows that richie and bev has thought of thorough plans on how to get with y/n.

he really does appreciate his friends’ attempt to help him, but he wants to do it himself, it was his case after all. even if it takes months for him to have courage to finally confess, y/n will always be waiting for him.
