Author’s note: So this is one of the ideas that’s been a plot bunny in my head for days that I finally had to sit down and type out. Obviously Vulcan’s are highly telepathic beings in general, but what if one came across a Human with the ability as well? We’re talking abilities in Telepathy, as well as Telekinesis. I took some notes on the subject from the wiki.
Pairing: Spock x Telepathic!Reader (can apply for TOS, AOS or Discovery Spock.)
Warnings: None apply.
Spock wouldn’t know how to react. He could sense another telepath in the room, he just couldn’t figure out who it was since you kept it well-hidden.
However, once on a mission with the potential of everyone else being in danger, you finally have to reveal yourself to the crew.
Everyone is shocked, but none more than Spock who can now understand you better than anyone else due to his telepathic nature.
It makes you feel less lonely as the two of you start to connect.
Spock tries to teach you how to better control your powers through some teachings of the Vulcan way.
Eventually, you both are seen meditating and spending a lot of time together, leaving the crew to think there is something more going on between you both.
Having grown up as a rare telepathic human, you’ve never been able to feel like you truly belonged anywhere until meeting Spock. He feels the same, believing he can understand humanity a little more through your eyes.
One things for sure: Neither of you will ever feel lonely again.
Summary: Jim’s constant playing starts to get the best of you.

You sat there in the crowded mess hall, pressed up against your closest friends on the ship, but you had never in your life felt this lonely. You could see him from across the room, sitting awfully close to a pretty blonde ensign, grinning. Your heart wrenched painfully in your chest, forcing you to look away. The crew was celebrating a successful diplomatic mission, where the captain, yet again, was able to cleverly captivate the queen of another possible federation ally. Yeah. He had probably slept with her or something.
You and Jim had a painful relationship. For you, anyway.
You weren’t sure how much longer you were going to be able to take it. You had been working on the bridge with him for almost a year, and you had caught feelings quicker than you wanted to and you weren’t going to lie; it scared you. You were afraid of how much you loved him, just because he gave you some attention one time. You knew that you were just another name on the long list of girls that fell into his charming trap. You felt ashamed.
When you glanced back over to Jim’s table to find them kissing, you felt sick. You hadn’t noticed that your friends had all moved away from where you had been sitting, so it was easy for you to slip away unnoticed. Tears began burning in the back of your throat as the doors to the mess hissed open, letting a chilled wave of fresher air cool your skin. You started to feel better. You decided to head for the observation deck, since the system the ship was flying through was rumored to be particularly beautiful. Anything to get your mind off of Jim.
You stopped by your quarters quickly to change into something a bit more comfortable than your uniform.
You hugged your arms into your chest as you walked down the cold empty hallways. You had thought his sudden interest in you was actual interest, not just some phase that he would soon grow out of. Were you simply not good enough for him to want to stay? After you had kissed for the first time you were sure that it had meant something, even though you both had been drunk, but when he never brought it up you became unsure. The thought that maybe he had just forgotten it had even happened, or worse, didn’t even realize it was you that he kissed, but you didn’t want that option.
You couldn’t help but feel that you just weren’t enough for him. After he started distancing himself from you, unfamiliar self-consciousness started to descend on you like a plague. You started scrutinizing every little thing about yourself; your hair, your facial features- even the most minuscule and irrelevant things like your jawline and the color of nail polish you wore. You started changing, probably not for the better, and suddenly the only thing that mattered was getting Jim’s attention to re-spark his interest. You started feeling disgusted by your body and started feeling anxious about how you dressed. Even conversation became something that concerned you and you had become cautious even of the things you spoke about. The only thing you started caring about was impressing him. It never worked. It was eating you alive.
The doors to the observatory slid open and your eyes widened. The system was breathtaking. It almost pushed Jim from your mind. You settled down on a plush couch in front of the window and gazed into the stars.

Jim felt empty. He had tried to find distraction from his issues in any way possible, but nothing worked; not even his everlasting love of pursuing women. He had found the blonde ensign in the midst of the party, easily pulling her under his spell. He tried to enjoy being around her, but he lost interest as soon as he spotted her in the crowd. He had been worried about her for the past few days; she didn’t look like herself. She sat by herself sipping on a drink one of her friends had given her, staring off into space. It wasn’t like her to spend a party by herself.
Jim kept his eye on her for most of the night, sending her glances now and then to make sure she didn’t leave with someone.
Maybe it wasn’t fair of him. He knew that he had feelings for her, but he didn’t want to pressure her. He knew it was a mistake to kiss her that night. He felt like he had taken advantage of her since they were both wasted and he thought that never speaking of it would make it go away. It didn’t, for him at least. He wasn't sure how she stood on the kiss, but he started noticing after it had happened that she started acting differently. He couldn’t put his finger on it.
Jim knew he wasn’t good for her. He didn’t know if he was ready for commitment, though he wanted to be with her so badly. So, instead of facing his problems, he ran from them. He started to distance himself from her and no matter how many times he had told himself that it was to keep her safe, it still felt like a lie. He noticed that she didn’t take his distance well. He felt terrible.
He had been lost in thought, and barely registered it when the blonde kissed him. Jim lightly moved her off of him and grabbed her hand. The girl was wasted as fuck, and Jim didn’t want to leave her by herself. He looked one more time to where [y/n] was sitting to find her seat empty. His heart dropped. She couldn’t have seen them kiss, did she? Or worse yet, leave with someone else?
He pulled the blonde out of the mess and escorted her back to her quarters. He didn’t intend on going back to the party, not if she wasn’t there. Instead, he decided to just take a walk through the empty halls and enjoy the silence.
Shaking his head, Jim rounded a corner to find the doors to the observation room open. Curious, he poked his head inside to see who was in there. His breath hitched in his throat.
She was sitting there, beautiful as ever, gazing at the stars with her back turned to him. He didn’t know what to say.
Before he could decide, however, the motion sensor of the door activated and the doors started to close, the hissing noise startling her. She jumped and turned around, eyes wide as they met Jim’s.
“Hey,” he breathed.

You were frozen. Internally, you were freaking out since you were in your loungewear and your hair was a mess and Jim was standing right in front of you, but your face was stuck looking like a lost puppy. Finally, though, you were able to force words out of your mouth.
“Jim?” you cocked your head. “What are you doing here?”
Jim’s mouth opened and then closed again. He had absolutely no idea what to say.
“Shouldn’t you be celebrating?” You asked, getting nervous. Was he uncomfortable speaking with you one on one? Did he wish it was someone else in that room?
He blinked and shook his head. “Ah- Um- Yeah, I guess,” he stumbled. “I just needed some air and I saw that someone left the door open-” He cut himself off. “I’m sorry-”
“No, you’re fine-”
He sighed. “Can I start over?”
You nodded, patting the space next to you. He sat down.
“Listen [y/n],” he paused. “I don’t know what’s come between us lately, but I want you to know that I miss you.”
You blinked at him in shock, butterflies erupting in your stomach.
“I... missed you too,” you nodded, smiling.
Jim grinned back.
“I value our friendship a lot, and I hope that whatever came between us-”
“This is about the kiss, isn’t it,” Jim cut you off. Your heart dropped. “Listen, if you wish it was someone else, or feel bad about it-"
"No! No," you interrupted. "Seriously, that's not it."
"Then tell me what's going on," he pressed.
"I can't," you said quietly.
"Why not?" he continued. "[y/n], you can tell me anything."
"Jim, stop pressing me."
"I can't help if you don't tell me-"
"It's because I like you!" you snapped.
His eyes widened. "Why didn't you just tell me ages ago?"
"Because you don't feel the same way," you looked away.
"But that's not true," Jim reached for your hand. "I like you [y/n]."
You moved away from him. "That doesn't change anything."
"Why not?" he frowned. "We can be together now. If that's what you want."
"I want that," you, said quietly.
"Then what's holding you back?" he reached out again and you turned on him, eyes blazing.
"Because, Jim. When we kissed that night, you never brought it up. I thought we had something, even back then, but you made me feel like it was nothing to you. I felt like nothing to you," you seethed. "Then, to make it worse, you pushed me away and started flirting around with other girls right in front of me. Do you know how that made me feel, Jim? I felt worthless. And the stupid thing is that I still miss you like crazy," your words started getting caught in your throat. "I think about you all the time, and I want to be with you."
Jim stared at you, a flabbergasted look on his face.
"But I can't," you looked away.
"I had no idea I made you feel that way," Jim whispered. "I didn't want to make you uncomfortable. You were really drunk, and I wasn't as much and I felt like I had crossed a line. I had no idea you felt that way for me. If I had, I would have told you I had feelings a long, long time ago."
He moved a little closer. This time you didn't flinch.
"I distanced myself from you because I thought you didn't feel the same for me. I thought that maybe the kiss had freaked you out, and I wanted to give you space. I swear that I never, ever wanted to hurt you." He took your hand, running his thumb over your knuckled. "I could barely take being away from you. Trust me, I couldn't stop thinking of you. All I want is a second chance. I want to be with you."
You wiped the tears off of your face with the back of your free hand before meeting his gaze. You leaned down and rested your head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for yelling at you."
Jim chuckled. "No worries. I deserved it."
You lifted your head and looked in his eyes again. "so, you really want to do this?"
He nodded, grinning. "I really want to do this."
You smirked. "What about that blonde ensign from the party?"
Jim chuckled. "Long forgotten."
You smiled up at him. He glanced down at your lips and used his other hand to tilt your chin up, closing the distance.
You pulled away with a smile still on your face. "Finally, a real kiss."
Bones had lost all hope in love and women after his messy divorce with his ex wife. She bled him dry and then some. He had nothing left not even his daughter. The day that almost all of start fleet was flung into action against some klingons was the day he first noticed her. He noticed the colour of her hair, the way she carried herself, and how undeniably smart y/n was. For a year he found himself engrossed in her, watching from afar as she communicated with people from various planets they were visiting and exploring. Her ability to somehow always smile. But after a while he noticed her smile fade and her eyes lose their shreds of happiness he had come to enjoy so much. It spiralled after that, he noticed the long sleeves she ALWAYS seemed to wear even if the heat was above what it normally was to match the seasons on earth, warmer in summer and colder in winter. But the long sleeves never seemed to leave her gorgeous body. It was lunch, He and jim had grabbed their plates when y/n came up in conversation. Jim has always been small minded, believed that women had to look, dress and act a certain way but the southerner, he was the exact opposite. He enjoyed the woman and how she looked. She was the healthiest out of all of them in the captains control room healthier even than jim was himself. “I worry about her bones, I mean it can’t be healthy for her to be that large. A little weight loss wouldn’t hurt anyone.” The captain spoke without consideration. Bones knuckles clenched around his tray as he clenched his jaw to keep from saying something to his best friend. “I mean really, she would be completely gorgeous if she wasn’t so fat.” Jim said next. Bones hands collided with the table angrily as they sat down “damn it Jim do you ever shut up? You’re forgetting, I’m CMO, I decide who’s healthy and who isn’t and y/n is certainly more healthy than even you. I mean come on have you ever seen her eat anything unhealthy?” He said harshly through his clenched teeth. He watched as her figure retreated with a bottle of water soon after. It was odd for her, she usually never skipped a meal. He knew because they sat together every day. Regardless of her weight she was still one of Jim’s best friends so why he all of a sudden was going after her behind her back was beyond him.
It seemed like after that day, everything had changed. Bones noticed how she slowly started telling everyone she wasn’t hungry or how she already ate. Every week there was a new excuse. A couple of months had passed when Jim had confronted him excitedly telling him how he had seen y/n in the gym every day for the last month. As he described how she had sweat pouring off of her every time jim was there and how exhausted she looked as she kept on while jim left. That was when his curiosity got the better of him. He asked for a few favours and soon he was keeping tabs on how long she was at the gym every day, Saying it was for his logs on everyone he asked for Jim’s hours too. Another couple of months passed and he watched as the beautiful woman he had grown feelings for rarely cracked a smile or talked anymore. He noticed how she barely even talked to him anymore and both of them had expressed how they thought of each other like siblings not 5 months prior.
As time passed bones just couldn’t fit the pieces together on what was happening to the woman everyone loved. Then, she was brought in for a case of dehydration. He took log of her weight, noticing that the 50 pounds she lost putting her at 210 pounds wasn’t possible if she was doing this in a healthy way. Not in such little time anyways. “Y/n l/n, it’s been some time since you were in here last. It looks like you’re suffering from dehydration, we’ll give you some fluids and bring you some food, you’ll be here for a few hours. I’ll have it cleared with Jim.” The CMO spike as he studied her face. At the nation of the word food he noticed a tinge of uncomfortableness in her body. Her muscles tensed up at the word. He had the food brought to her and checked on her every hour as he noticed the food looked like it was being eaten he was content. That was until she left and he heard the nurse muttering about the waste. “What waste?” He asked walking over “y/n, she didn’t eat a single bit of this by the looks at it, just tore it off and threw it out.” She said shaking her head as she changed the garbage. His fists clenched as he sighed returning to his desk.
He watched as her skin paled and her eyes sunk in and how in their form fitting uniforms her ribs stuck out in an unhealthy manner. She looked almost dead with the dark circles she wore everyday and the pale skin. He was getting more worried by the day. Then, the call came in. “Bones, emergency medical help requested in the command room, Jim said its urgent, y/n is unconscious.” The nurse spoke urgently as she ran over with their kits and a gurney. Time seemed to slow as he quite literally dropped everything and ran. When he saw her he felt his breath hitch in his throat and he froze. “Dr. McCoy, her hearts barely beating.” Uhura said with tears running down her face at the state of her friend. He kicked in to overdrive as they ran her back to med bay. “She’s coding!” The nurse yelled “charge the defibrillator to 300! CLEAR!” He yelled as he pressed the cold metal to her chest. He watched as her heart slowly started beating again “give her lots of fluids and give her a bag of blood for transfusion. She’s severely dehydrated and malnourished. Clear my schedule to the other doctors, I’m not leaving her side.” He spoke with authority as everyone bustled around him “god damn it woman. What have you done to yourself.” He says angrily as the nurses gasp he turns around. Her arms were littered with scars and cuts. There wasn’t a section of her pale slim arms that didn’t have either a fresh scar or a fresh cut. “Leonard! How is she?!” Jim said running in with tears in his eyes. As their eyes connected after bones took on the sight he heard a broken cry leave his best friends lips. “How did we not notice this? How did you not notice this damn it you’re the god damn CMO McCoy!” Jim said angrily “not the time for this conversation. Out. NOW!” bones yelled as he turned to wipe a stray tear before anyone could notice. Jim was right. How didn’t he notice. All the signs were there and never once did he put the pieces together and now his beautiful Mariah was practically dead in front of them. He worked tirelessly for hours, changing her fluids, running tests to make sure the blood transfusion was going smoothly and soon she wasn’t as dead looking as she was before. When everything was fine he sat down and let his eyes close for a while with a heavy heart. Jim was leaned up against the wall as he noticed how hard the doctor was taking all of this. Bones was in love with her and everyone except for the two of them could piece that together. He knew he shouldn’t have said what he did as he watched the doctor grip his best friends hand like she was going to slip away at any moment.
How had they let it get to this? It was a question that nobody held the answer to. But more importantly for bones, how had he let the woman he had grown to completely and utterly love get here? But now, they had to fix it. He had to get the love of his life back to how she was, happy, and healthy. No matter what.
Y/n
I woke up with the biggest headache I’d had in, well forever. The beeping of whatever it was only made it worse as I groaned and grabbed my head. Pulling my hand from whatever it was underneath I felt the cool air hit my bare arms and I instantly panicked. My eyes opened fast and I groaned again at the bright light noticing the whispers for the first time “anyone got any sunglasses..” I said in a gravelly voice. “No sunglasses, just questions.” I heard as I opened my eyes once more and looked around. I was in the med bay. The memory hit me like a train and I subconsciously sat up and pulled my knees to my chest as bones crossed his arms from where he sat having just woken up. “I don’t know why.” I say as I hang my head low. “ you know exactly why.” He says sternly as I bite my nails. “Why didn’t you come to us?” Jim asks with tears in his eyes. My eyebrows furrow angrily as I snap my head up to look at him “what the hell do you mean why jimmy? You’re the one who said I was too fat and unhealthy. Why are you all of a sudden so concerned?” I state crossing my arms. His face drops “you heard that...” he says looking down and I nod “yeah jim I did.” “It wasn’t what you think, okay? I was trying to prove something to uhura and saying that was the only way to prove the point.” He says looking at me pleading “what kind of a point calls for you to talk about me like that? You’re like family to me you a*shole.” I say glaring at him “uhura wasn’t as convinced as I was and I needed to get a reaction out of bones by talking about you. It was the only way to prove how he felt about you. She was on the fence about it and as soon as I did that and he reacted the case was closed. I’m sorry.” He says and I shake my head “that’s doesn’t answer my question. What. Point.” I growl out “that bones is just as in love with you as you are with him.” He says before walking out without a word. “What the hell is he talking about.” I sigh as I lay back on the bed. “Well he wasn’t lying. I do love you but that’s not why you’re here. Can you tell me why you’ve done this?” He asks grabbing my hand. I sigh as I look down at my lap “I didn’t feel beautiful anymore. And I wasn’t happy and I figured maybe if I was skinny. Maybe if I was like everyone else, maybe then I wouldn’t be so undesirable. Maybe then someone could love me.”
How could you even think that? You’ve always been the most beautiful woman in the room damn it. You’ve never been undesirable, I knew lots of men on the ship who thought the same.” He says and I shake my head “I wasn’t worried about them. I was worried about you. And after him said what he did and you didn’t say anything I knew it must be true and I knew I had to do something about it.” I say and he shakes his head “I’m sorry if I made you feel like you were less then you were. But trust me I never thought you were anything but beautiful. I’ve loved you since we met at star fleet. I’ve loved you for so long but I figured you could do better so I never said anything. And for the record I didn’t say anything to Jim because I was more focused on not punching him out for saying that.” He says and I look at him. “Let’s get you better okay. I’m going to help you. I’m going to be there for you like I haven’t been, I’m sorry.” He says sitting beside me. I rest my head on his shoulder as I nod. His fingers found my chin and lifted my head up to meet his, and before I could stop myself our lips were pressed together. My hand wound through his hair as he pulled me onto his lap. I wasn’t sure how long it had been, time seemed to still as we got lost in each other. The sound of someone clearing their throat had me pulling away and turning to glare at the captain. “If you leave now I’ll forgive you.” I say a blush hearing my face. “Say no more.” He says before swiftly turning around and exiting. I bit my lip as I turned back to look at bones who was chuckling “I’ve only seen him move that fast when I’m coming at him with a hypo.” He says and I giggle. I knew this was going to be hard. And I knew I would struggle a lot, but I didn’t care. If I had these people behind me to help, then nothing would ever be a problem again.

Summary: Kirk, Scotty, Leonard, and Spock go to a bar during shore leave, where they each try to get (y/n)’s number. Only one of them succeeds.

"Ship is in dock, Captain," Sulu declared, making some final adjustments.
"Thank you, Mr. Sulu," Kirk grinned as he turned to Spock. "Care to join Bones, Scotty and I at a bar?"
"Of course captain," Spock responded, hands held stiffly at his back as he followed him into the turbolift. The duo joined up with Scotty and Bones on the way, relieved to finally have a break.
Once the four of them finally found a decent bar on the station, they didn’t hesitate. Within the first twenty-five-or-so minutes, Kirk and Bones were tipsy, Scotty was drunk, and Spock was eyeing the bowl of chocolates behind the dark counter. The seats around the men were eagerly filled with people and aliens alike, all ready to blow off some steam with friends.
A certain woman caught their attention; dressed in a (favorite color) flowy crop top and a pair of high waisted jeans. Her (hair length) hair was thrown into haphazard space buns, messy in the best way. Jim nudged Bones and nodded towards the beauty, catching the attention of Scotty too.
"Betcha can't get her number," Bones whispered to Jim. He rolled his eyes.
"Pfft, you wish," the captain scoffed, launching himself from his chair. "This'll be no sweat."
Jim sauntered over to the girl, sliding into the seat next to her. She pretended not to see him.
"Brandy, please," he smirked. "On the rocks. One for me and the lady."
"No thanks," she replied nonchalantly, still refusing to look his way. "Two shots of vodka."
"Can't say I'm a vodka person," Jim said as the bartender placed his brandy and the two shots before them.
She rolled her eyes and brought both glasses to her lips, turning towards him as she threw her head back. "I never said it was for you."
Jim's cheeks were dusted with pink, totally unprepared for her response. He covered it with a chuckle.
"Fiesty, are we?"
She scoffed.
Jim opened his mouth again, but she interrupted him.
"Look, buddy," she looked him in the eye again, causing Jim to stiffen.
"Before you try and ask for my number, I'm gonna have to decline."
Jim sighed, defeated.
"As you wish, M'lady," he said, picking himself up and walking slowly back over to his posse.
"Did you get it?" Scotty and Bones eagerly asked. Jim shook his head.
"Ha! I knew it! You're not as suave as you think, lover-boy!" Scotty laughed.
"Well, I bet you guys can't do it!" Jim argued indignantly.
"I'll try!" Scotty volunteered, jumping out of his seat.
"I can't believe I didn't get her number," Jim huffed.
Within minutes, Scotty came back as well, numberless.
"Okay, it can't be THAT hard to get her number," Bones said in disbelief.
"You go try then," Jim dared angrily.
"Yeah," Scotty chimed in. "The lass is as tough as nails!"
"Fine then," Bones got up and made his way to the woman.
In no time, he too returned with no success.
"Okay, so maybe it is hard," he muttered, sipping his drink.
"I won't stand for this," Jim smacked his fist into his palm. "One of us has to get her number before the end of the night."
"But we've all tried and failed," Scotty protested. "It would be quite ungentlemanly to go ask again."
"Not everyone," Bones said. The three of them slowly turned towards their pointy-eared friend, still eyeing the chocolate truffles three feet away from him.
"Are you kidding me?" Scotty exclaimed. "That Vulcan couldn't get a date with a rock! How do you expect him to get that pretty lady's number?"
"Well he's our last shot," Bones argued. "We can't go back over there but he can."
"What the harm in trying?" Kirk shrugged.
"I do not believe this is a good idea," Spock said.
"Oh come on!" Kirk groaned. "You don't even know what I'm asking yet!"
"I could hear you all talking since I am sitting right next to you," Spock intoned. He turned to Scotty. "And I do not understand your insult Mr. Scott since it would be illogical to get a date with a rock anyway."
"See what I mean?" Scotty motioned towards Spock.
"Ugh. Just- Just please try okay?" Jim pleaded. "I really want to know her number."
"Very well Captain. I will try," Spock started to get up, but turned around quickly to grab a chocolate, which he popped into his mouth. He made his way over to the girl quietly sipping at her martini. She looked up when he sat down.
"Hey there," she smiled.
"Greetings," Spock looked away from her, unsure how to act.
"Starfleet, eh?" she nodded at his uniform. "I'm in Starfleet too."
"You are?" Spock asked, intrigued.
"Yep," she popped the P. "Just got out of the academy actually. I've been training to be an assistant navigator."
"I see."
"So what about you?" she asked. "What field you in?"
"I am the first officer of the U.S.S Enterprise as well as the science officer," Spock replied.
"Damn," she raised her eyebrows. "I've always wanted to be on that ship."
"I believe the human term would be, 'I love my job'," Spock joked, though never breaking his stony expression.
"I bet," she chuckled. "So what's a handsome Vulcan like you doing in a place like this?"
"My captain insisted that I and our ships doctor and head of engineering accompany him to this bar," Spock explained.
"Oh, are those the looneys who tried to get my number earlier?" she laughed. "That's so funny."
"May I ask you a question?" Spock asked.
"Go for it," she said, finishing her martini and ordering another.
"Why did you shut the others down so quickly but continue to talk to me?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. I've met other Vulcans in my lifetime, and they just seem way more attentive than people are, if that even makes sense. I guess what I mean is that without any emotions, they just feel more genuine. No offense, but your weird friends over there seem like they all just want to get in my pants."
"I see," Spock responded. "In that case, would you like to go on, what you humans tend to call, a date with me? I'm sure the Captain would be pleased if you joined our crew."
"That seems like an offer I cannot refuse," she smiled widely. "Here's my number. The name's [y/n] by the way."
"Spock."
[Y/n] scribbled the string of numbers down on a napkin, sliding it over to Spock and putting a twenty on the bar to pay for her drinks.
"Shall we go?" she smirked.
"Indeed," the corner of Spock's mouth twitched a little as he held his arm out and she wrapped hers around it. The pair walked past the trio, jaws on the floor as Spock waved the napkin in Kirks face before they left the bar.
“Hey uhm I don't know if I ever send you a request (if i did i am sorry bc I'm so forgetful) but could I request headcanons for Spock and Data (if you write for tng) with a very emotional female co worker where they find her in a room crying? ^^ have a lovely day! :)”
- @lady-of-black-roses
Hiii! Thank you for sending in a request! You have sent me one, I’m still working on it oops but don’t worry about it! Keep sending them in :)
So in the meantime, I decided to do my first ever headcanon! Not sure how it works exactly if it’s like a drabble or something but I’m just going to structure it off some lousy research I did but I hope you like it nonetheless! (P.S your fic will be coming soon :)
Sorry if Spock seems a bit OOC at the end I wanted it to be sweet :)
request something!
ngl, he kinda didn’t know what to do at first when he saw you
it kinda surprised him
you were crying really hard
like ugly, ugly crying
he knew that you sometimes could get worked up but he had no idea how much pent-up emotion you were able to hold in
he didn’t even know why you were crying in the first place
he just wanted to be there for you
so he sat on the floor with you for as long as you needed to get it all out
he held you to try and make you feel safe even though you were staining his shirt with your tears
he rubbed your back and whispered nice things like ‘it's going to be okay’ and even in his monotone voice it still helped you feel relaxed
he knew that both of your shifts had started but he was in no hurry to make you go to work like that
eventually, you wore yourself out and fell asleep in his arms
he carried you to the bed and let you sleep cuddled nicely on his arm
he dozed off too
he woke up a few hours later with you hugging him tightly
it was well into the night but he still stayed with you
when you woke up you explained to him why you were crying and he was as sympathetic as a Vulcan could be
he really did try his best to make you feel better
he let you change out of your tearstained uniform into a sweatshirt and some shorts so you could leave your room
he took you to the mess and replicated you a steaming mug of [your favorite hot drink] and sat with you as you drank it
it was all a blessing in disguise, since the ship was flying through a particularly beautiful corner of space with gorgeous colors and bright stars
Spock sat with you as you watched space streak by
he escorted you back to your quarters, hand in hand
he was about to leave but you asked him to stay with you
you told him that he made you feel safe
he agreed and let you snuggle into his side all night
even though you were like a human furnace and he barely got much sleep because he was sweating so much
but just looking at your relaxed form made the corner of his mouth turn up a bit
and all he felt was pure affection and happiness
a bit groggy, he decided to let his guard down with you like you had done with him
Thank you for your request anon :) Sorry for making you wait! I’ve been really uninspired lately and when I write and I’m uninspired then my work doesn’t have my heart in it. I really want the stories you request to be the best they can be, so I tried to write when my writer’s block was absent there for a minute! I really hope you understand and enjoy!
also heartbreak but that doesn't matter
IMPORTANT!!!! I am going to be going on a quick hiatus to work on a larger fic on my AO3! It isn’t Star Trek, but let me know if you want to read it anyways. Leonard had warned you. He told you he had a bad feeling about the away mission. He told you it was a bad idea, but you went anyway and now you were paying the price.
You were the only one to survive the malfunction. You were the engineer, designated to keep the shuttle up and running while the science officers recorded their data, but an Ensign you didn’t know the name of had screwed with some wiring and everything was fried. Everything, including the Ensign, and every other officer aboard the vessel. The only reason you survived was because you were conveniently working in the back rubber-sealed room of the shuttle.
“[y/l/n] to Enterprise!” you shouted into the receiver, frantically trying to steer the shuttle as it plummeted through the atmosphere of Mantilles. “Goddamnit, pick up.”
“[y/n]? What’s wrong?” Jim’s voice came in static and you nearly collapsed in relief.
“Jim, something fried and killed the whole crew. Engines are gone. I’m going down- ugh!”
The shuttle lurched violently as you re-entered the atmosphere, feeling your ears pop and the cabin’s temperature start to rise. You waited until the hot brightness of the flames and the rushing in your ears died away before opening your eyes again.
The comm reconnected to the Enterprise and you could hear Leonard trying to reach you from the other side.
“[y/n]! [y/n], can you hear me?”
“Yes!” you called back, hands flying over the control panel as alarms started blaring. “Shit!”
“[y/n]-”
“Beam me out!” you shouted, panic rising in your chest. “Beam me out! 1,000 meters from the surface!”
Your breathing got faster as you tried in vain to do something, anything to stop the shuttle from falling so quickly.
“Jim, please!” you heard Leonard begging on the line. “Somebody, please do something!”
“500 meters!”
“I’m trying but there’s something wrong with the shuttle’s hull, I can’t get a lock on her!” you heard someone yell.
“200 meters,” adrenaline mixed with fear shook your hands violently as the control panel flashed red in warning, the trees getting closer and closer. Your movement stopped slowly as defeat settled into your bones. “Leonard-”
“Don’t you start,” Leonard choked and you could tell he was trying not to cry.
“100 meters,” you tried not to cry either, knowing all of the crew on the other end about to watch you die. You decided to go down honorably. “50 meters.”
“35. 20. 15.”
You could hear frantic yelling on the other end as the count dipped under 10 and the shuttle started hitting the trees. You quickly activated the safety belt, even though you knew it wouldn’t do any good.
“Leonard-!”
Your line went dead.
Leonard was frozen. He didn’t particularly know what he was supposed to do in this instance. He felt numb as he heard the static coming from your comm and the word TERMINATED taunting him from the screen displaying your zeroed-out vitals. A small part of him pointed out that the tech could be wrong and you weren’t dead but he pushed it away. He knew that it was over.
When he finally noticed how the bridge had fallen silent besides the klaxon sounding quietly in the background and the computer repeating ‘warning’ in a steady rhythm from his medical station, he tore his eyes from the screen and looked around. Uhura was crying, Jim looked like Captain Pike had died in front of him all over again, Spock was holding Uhura, turned away from the rest of the crew, Sulu’s face was paused in an expression of horror, Chekov’s head was in his hands, and everyone else didn’t seem to understand what had just happened.
Even though he was already standing, he made a show of pushing his chair away from behind him, the clash of metal on metal as the chair hit the floor slicing through the silence. Leonard’s sad eyes met Jim’s and suddenly he wasn’t sad anymore. Anger welled up inside him and he rushed off the bridge. He could’ve stopped this. Someone could’ve done something. His feet took him to his office and he stopped when he stood in his doorway. Both his eyes and his hands twitched with rage. The door shut behind him and Leonard snapped. He slammed his hands on his desk before moving his arm in one fluid motion and sent everything resting on it tumbling to the floor with a crash. He stared at the papers, padds, pens, pencils, and various other things littered all over the floor before the tears started welling in his eyes. He never thought he would be an angry cryer, but here he was. He collapsed into his desk chair, head down on the desk, and let it out.
You don’t know what woke you. Maybe it was the heat, or maybe the pain, but whatever it was it sent your eyes flying open. You gasped in agony, feeling the weight of whatever piece of the shuttle was crushing your right arm and legs. It was almost too much and you felt the darkness start rushing back into your vision but you blinked rapidly, pushing it away. You were smart enough to know that if you went under again, there was a good chance you would never come back up.
You tried to survey your surroundings though the pain you were feeling in a multitude of places made it a bit hard. It seemed to be late morning on the planet judging by the way the sun filtered low in the trees, making it a bit easier to see the wreckage of the shuttle around you. From what you could tell, you were under the main control panel and part of your seat. You could feel the belt ripping the skin around your abdomen, and the upper strap had definitely broken your collar bone. You looked around again, eyes settling on a communicator, unharmed and just below where you were stuck. Hope soared through your chest, but only until it suddenly dawned on you that with the destruction of the shuttle, everyone most-likely thought you were dead.
You decided to focus on trying to get yourself out from underneath the piece of shuttle without permanently losing your legs instead of dwelling on the fact that the people you cared about most had already left you behind.
You felt around with your free hand, not feeling any blood, so you figured it was internal bleeding. You were somewhat right.
You groaned as you started to lift the piece of metal off of your body, feeling the blood start to pool under your legs.
Shit.
You were able to heave the heavy steel up and off of you, wincing at the loud crash following as it made contact with the ground. You stayed in your position for a minute longer, allowing yourself to breathe before propping yourself up on your good elbow and nearly passed back out.
Your body was covered in your own blood, left leg bent painfully in an odd direction. When you sucked in a breath, pain seared through your shoulder and you looked down sharply. Yeah, your collar bone was definitely broken.
You refocused on the communicator. You had been wedged between two shuttle parts until you had freed yourself and now you were elevated several feet off the ground. You tried your best to keep yourself braced as you attempted to slide down the bent piece of metal, crying out in agony as your broken leg hit the reddish dirt. You clutched your knee, letting a few tears slip out from your puffy eyes. Something warm and wet started seeping through your ripped dress again, and you noticed that with the impact you had started bleeding from everywhere again. You glanced back up at the rusty-looking spot you were just laying in, cringing at the fresh red streaking through the white hull.
You limped for the communicator, ending up in a crawl, and hastily flipped it open.
“[y/l/n] to Enterprise,” your croaked out, clutching the communicator for dear life. “Please, please...Anyone..?”

You don’t know how long you lied there, waiting for someone to pick up. Your eyes were bloodshot, cheeks tear-stained, hope slowly dissolving; until your communicator picked up something.
“[y/n]?” came your static reply. You wanted to cry again you were so happy.
“Yes, yes it’s me!” you cried back, gasping in relief. “Leonard... is that you?”
“We’re coming to get you darlin’,” he said back. Your excitement started to wear off as you noticed the blood pooling around you.
“Uh, Leonard?” your heart started to race. You couldn’t die now, not when you had just found your family again.
“Yes, darlin’?”
“I’m losing lots of blood...” you trailed off as your eyes started to droop, fatigue settling in your bones.
“[y/n]! Listen to me, you have to stay awake okay?” Leonard spoke worriedly.
You fought it, you really did, but the darkness was just enough to force you to succumb. You lazily managed to press the tracking beacon on the communicator before going under, hearing Leonard pleading on the line.
“Just hold on...please.”

You were hazily pulled out of the empty sleep you were in, cracking your eyes against the harsh lights of what you assumed was the medbay. You stirred, hissing in pain when you moved.
“[y/n]!” Leonard said in surprise, dropping what he was doing and rushing to your side. “How are you feeling?”
“Better,” you smiled up at him, never happier to see his smiling face. “Still hurting a little.”
Leonard leaned in for a quick kiss, trying not to hurt you. “I’ll come to check on you in a bit, okay?”
You nodded, sending him a small smile.
“Also, never do that to me ever again.”
You nodded, smiling wider. “Don’t worry, I don’t particularly like being in shuttle crashes.”
