-Not every ghost pokemon is a deceased pokemon. Bates (Pikachu -> Banette) and Twilight (Skorupi -> Mismagius) are deceased, but not every Banette or Mismagius is like them. Some simply hatched from eggs. On that note, all ghosts can have eggs, but they will always be ghosts like them.
-Not every deceased pokemon becomes a ghost pokemon. Some deceased pokemon show up as spirits in their original forms (Zephyr), but have no tangibility and can’t be perceived by normal pokemon.
-What happens is that when a pokemon dies, it’s aura flares up one last time. If that flare is powerful enough (usually spurred on by the individual’s emotions and willpower), the aura morphs the pokemon’s soul into a new body, tethering them to the earth once more.
-This is thought to be where the ghost type originated by some scholars, but that’s been debated over time.
-This has a higher chance of happening to younger pokemon, or pokemon whose deaths were sudden and painful, or were murdered. Twilight became a ghost because he was a young child when he died. Bates was left to drown and was filled with resentment towards her killer, so her aura flare allowed her to return. Zephyr’s death, while sudden, produced a smaller flare because she didn’t have as much willpower. And so she simply passed on.
-Many pokemon see ghosts as creepy or untrustworthy. They believe them to be resentful, warped spirits who will punish innocent pokemon for their own deaths. Others see them as a bad omen. Some simply pity them.
-Ghosts tend to have poor memory of their previous lives. They struggle to recall their loved ones, and if they do one day, they can easily forget the next. Some (Twilight) try to train themselves to remember day to day to varying results. This is part of why certain pokemon distrust them: “since they cant remember their killers, they could target anyone”…
-It usually takes a while for ghosts to spawn after they die. Twilight only manifested after a week, some ways away from his home.
-Once a ghost’s physical form is destroyed, they pass on to the next world. No more chances.
I hope he explodes </3 i need him stuck in a blender fr... anyways guys, this post will have all the info about the mayor! Or, all the info you need to know, for now :) (my art style is constantly changing though.. so I hope it'll stay consistent for at least a bit </3 and this drawing shall never be colored, sadly, because i suck at that)
Full name: Alaric Gaudin
DOB: Unknown
Age: 54
Gender: Male, uses He/Him
Species: Human
Status: Alive
Occupation: Mayor of Starfall
Appearance desc: His hair is a dark brown, graying in some areas due to age, and probably stress. Its short and kept, mostly, out of his face. He’s fairly tan and has dark green eyes, dawning heavy eyebags to go along with them. He’s pretty tall, standing at just 5’11, a little over by half an inch, and pretty well built despite his age; no hardcore muscles, but still fit. He has a few tattoos across his arms, a singular black line on both his arms near his wrist, sitting just under it. Has an upper arm sleeve tattoo on his right side, too. He also has some scaring, clearly seen by the one on his nose: some on his arms and legs, a bigger one on his back. He's always seen dressed in fancy suits, and people have yet to see him in anything else..
Likes: Money, quietness, coffee, current events, reading
Dislike: Too many to list, i fear. But if you folk wanna see, i could be swayed to post them..
Hobbies: Working, watching the news!
Persona synopsis: What's there to say about the mayor of Starfall? I suppose we could start with the fact that he's quite the asshole, in laymen's terms. He has no regards to others feelings, to their desires or emotions. Not empathetic in the slightest. He'll do whatever he needs to, use whatever resources he has, to get what he wants. He also doesn't joke around, ever. Not once can anyone recall a time where he's acted playful rather than his usual stoic and seriousness. It's a bit saddening, really. A sad, mean old man with no whimsy in his life. But it's fine, because he quite enjoys where he's at. How he lives.

The First Star, an ancient star with an unknown past, but from what people do know: It created life and all things in the universe, giving home to many species. However, light can never be without dark and for thousands of years the First Star was in conflict with it’s rival The Dark Star; a mysterious black hole with dark magic filled inside. Nobody has ever come close to it or seen it, but it’s goal is to snuff out all life in the world.
The war waged on for centuries until the two came to an agreement, they would each empower living things scattered across the universe and those beings would fight under their name. Thus the Star Guardians and Dark Stars were created, those who protect and those who destroy for any selfish reasons.
Our story begins with the current generation of Star Guardians and Dark Stars...
Hello and welcome. This is the first part of the Starfall Universe roleplay group. Starfall is a roleplay group focused on immersing ourselves with the Star Guardian world and stories. Most of this is based off the Star Guardian lore, but we are tied with the Dark Stars. You can learn more on the Starfall info page on my blog with the link below. We currently have slots open for many characters and if you’re interested please feel free to private message me. Which side will you choose?
i think for the shitty scorpion family, their entire dynamic is definitely toxic (heh) but also neither dusk nor bruno is an inherently terrible person? its just that they’re a) horrible together longterm as they are and b) people who should not have had kids.
Brought to you by Starfall's longest-running magazine, providing you with quality content about the latest news, trends, and high life of Starfall's elites.
This season is all about love- whether it's romantic or not, this issue of THE ECLIPSE has something for everyone, starring the heartthrob taking social media by storm. Founder and CEO of Dr. Love, and runner of the newest late-night show with a 'zine of his own on the way: everyone, welcome Cupid Amoré!
Interviewer: Thank you, Mr. Amoré for taking the time to sit with us. We know you must be busy.
Cupid: It's no problem at all! I'm honored you thought I was important enough to interview- the email startled me so bad I had to step away from my laptop! It was a little embarrassing...
I: Well I'm glad you found it so exciting! Getting straight into it, what are the basics of what you'd want the readers to know?
C: Hm. [pause] Obviously, there's my name, but that's likely been plastered all over the page by now. [chuckles] I guess from there it'd be my age, and so on- 34, as of right now. I'm a huge romantic- if you couldn't tell already. Mmn... [another pause] I don't really have a lot of nicknames- most people usually call me by my first name. Either that or my last. My favorite of all of them is 'squish', though. My sister gave it to me when I was younger.
I: 34? Wow! You seemed a lot younger- I wouldn't have guessed from your socials. And "Squish"- is there a particular reason behind it?
C: My sister would just say it's because my face was so fat. [sigh, a tired smile spreads on his face] She wasn't wrong, but I still want to whack her for it.
I: Siblings, am I right? Moving on, would you mind explaining the whole deal on your company, Dr. Love? It feels like it sprung up out of nowhere!
C: Well, I've actually run Dr. Love as a small online business for a while now, but only in recent months have we actually expanded into a "real" company. We sell products- mostly themed around couples, though our products can be bought by and gifted to anyone. Candies, cards, bouquets, etcetera. We even have a matchmaking service, and- ahem- 'items' for our older clients to enjoy on sale. Those ones are part of a...slightly different brand, though- the same one used for our late night show.
I: I see...it's nice to see you've taken the time to separate your adult and general brands. What inspired you to take this route? The type of business, I mean.
C: Love, of course! [chuckles] To be more specific, my love of love. I've lived in this city all my life- seen a manner of nasty things come about. I think if people took the time to slow down, and really take the time to appreciate themselves and the people around them- to interact without judgement, that Starfall can become a much better place. Too many people are on edge; trust is low- kindness to strangers is seen as some sort of novelty. If my company can help open hearts and change minds, well, I'd find that just wonderful.
I: An altruistic approach- don't you feel that's a bit naïve? With all the conflicts between humans and non-humans, not to mention the looming possibility of....well, I'm sure you've gotten your fair share of concerning fanmail yourself.
C: I have, and really, both of those issues are tragic to me, in a way. People are averse to change- I can see why someone with no experience would find the sudden appearance of non-humans jarring. Except, they aren't sudden- not in Starfall. They've been a long-standing part of our history. To try and push them out because of some sort of purity complex is, pardon my harsh words, stupid. Stupid and ignorant.
[pause]
C: And yes, that 'possibility' you've mentioned. I can't judge those people too harshly. At the end of the day, that type of behavior is more than your standard pushy fan. It's a sign of something deeper- it's something innate in that person. [frowns] I can't help but feel sad thinking about it. There are people who need help in this city. Real help. They're disturbed, but they're still people. I doubt they actively choose to be the way they are- it's unfortunate.
I: ...Of course. How genuine of you, Mr. Amoré. Aside from your business career, what can we come to expect from you? Publicity wise.
C: Of course there's the show- thinking about it is still nerve wracking, but I'll live. It's a late night show, nothing explicit, but I suggest streaming it after the young'ins have gone to bed. [winks] For our younger fluttering hearts, though, our magazine is all-ages, with an advice column for those struggling hearts in our community. We've been considering featuring some local stories in our magazine as well- meet cutes, self love stories...just things that make you feel fuzzy inside, you know?
I: Looks like we may have a bit of competition, eh? We're looking forward to its official release! Wrapping up now, any final words you have or our readers?
C: I am too. As for final words, not many, surprisingly. I just wish to thank those who have supported me up until this point, and welcome all those who decide to join the little community we've crafted. I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have without your help. Other than that, continue to spread as much love as you can- you never know who really needs it.
I: A touching message. Thank you again, Mr. Amoré, we appreciate you coming in and answering our questions. For our readers who want more of Starfall's newest star, be sure to check out the information listed below about his upcoming projects. Thank you for your time, and stay tuned for the next issue of THE ECLIPSE!
We thought it'd be helpful if we discussed some of the locations you can visit during your stay in Starfall, that way you can plan ahead on site-seeing! So have this 'lil guide with descriptions of each place and what they have to offer! (This post includes places from the City! Check our other post for Suburban Spots!)
City Sites !
Starview Cinema
If you're looking to watch movies in HD, Starview Cinema should be at the top of your places to visit. A few years back, it was redone to give it the aesthetic of a vintage Cinema; a giant movie board – updated daily –, a large, lit-up sign, ticket booths under the awning, it's got it all! Inside, despite the illusion of a flat roof outside, there's a domed ceiling with a starry sky painted on, giving the building a magical night feel. There are self-salting and buttering stations, concessions, and even a bar for you to get a little sum :) There are two wings on either side, each holding 10 regular theatres and 1 VIP theatre. People praise Starview on how quickly new releases make it to the screens, but recently, "movies" and "ads" containing strange, often graphic, material have been appearing where they aren't meant to. Not to fret, the staff are working on a fix for this! So If you see anything strange, do make sure to report it.
Celeste Aquarium
The Celeste Aquarium is quite a sight to see, and not just for the life within, but for just how grand it is; gorgeous detailing surrounds the entire building, along with marble pillars and steps, which are always kept pristine. There are 3 sections in total, split into two wings on either side of the main building, which sports a giant glass dome; it's ethereal at night! Each section houses a different type of aquatic lifeform: smaller fish, like seahorses or clownfish, are at the right wing, while the left wing holds larger fish and creatures, like whales and sharks. There is a large, cylinder tank at the center section, under the dome, that holds a mix of both wings, though majorly holds rare, magical creatures. Sometimes, there are mermaid shows held at the center tank; however, Celeste Aquarium does not use real mermaids for these shows; despite some people pointing out how real the fins look, we can say that its thanks to our special effects team that we're able to make the mermaids look convincing!
Novelty Nook
A popular, well-known bookshop within the city; a staple if you're an avid reader! The building is 18 ft and 6 inch's tall, two floors around 9 ft and 3 inches in height respectively, meant to be accommodating to readers of all heights. Its exterior is modern, with a solid black coat of paint on the bricks in front and large windows, making it stand out from the shops on either side; and it has a cute black awning with a sign just above it. Although it seems small outside, it has a surprising amount of space once you step in. It exhibits a homey vibe inside, warm lighting and a relaxing feel, contrasting the cool, modern design of the outside. It has books from every genre, and nearly every author: Kids' books, romance, murder mystery, how-to's, you name it and the shop has it! In the back of the store, there's a spiral staircase leading to the second floor – though it barely counts as one, seeing as the center of the floor is hollowed out, the flooring that does exist has railings around the center. There are sliding ladders on some bookshelves, for the books higher up. It's a great place to go if you're looking for a good book to get lost in, or to meet new friends with similar interests!

three ocs of your choice and that one particular thing they don't really want others to know (be it really embarrassing or earthshatteringly personal) €v:
Counting two as one since it's the same thing, but Marlow and Felicity actually still deeply care about one another romantically deep down. Marlow is just too stubborn for his own good to reconcile with her, even though he feels horrible for what happened, and Felicity's tired of being the one to try and extend the olive branch when SHE was the one who was hurt in the first place.
... Is it cheating to say another Marlow one, I'm thinking about him... and idk where else this lore will go... He's got a lot of stuff. A few years before the events of Starfall, Valerie sent out a request asking to be escorted around a mystery dungeon. She felt desperate to explore, but wasn't allowed to go out on her own, and she felt safer asking a qualified team for help. Her request was accepted! Marlow found the accepted request first, and before Valerie got home that day, he threw it out. He comforted Valerie when she was "ghosted", but was too choked up with guilt to say anything besides "I'm sorry." He doesn't regret it, truly, but he doesn't want Valerie to know either way.
Aisling is a huge romantic and really really really wants a wife and kids. This is not actually a secret, but she thinks it is and she's embarrassed that a "cool" pokemon like her would be so sappy. She swoons HARD. She is a bleeding heart and writes hearts in her diaries in her tender 30s.
Dunno if this really counts, but Felicity always hates when pokemon ask how long she was trapped in her own egg. She knows they're just curious, but the reaction grosses her out whether it's sympathetic, incredulous, etc. Even worse if they go "what do you think happened to the frostbitten sneasel clowder?" or even the dreaded "Why do you think you were left like that?"
still trying to figure out how reincarnated ghosts age but i imagine that while cecil (the mismagius! he has a new name as a mismagius now cause he's not supposed to remember his old name) is an adult, he's very emotionally stunted and acts kinda childish because he was a child when he died.... hmmm
