Hello folks, I'm just going to get straight into this.
I'm going to rework Rainbow Connection and basically scrap the version that exists now. That being the two chapters that I've already released. I won't be taking down those chapters, I firmly believe in preserving failed projects, but it is going back to the planning phase.
Part of the reason I've made the decision to do this is because I'm really just not happy with the chapters I released. They're rough and I think I could've done a lot better with them. The second reason being that I think I kind of cheated skipping over initiation and everything before that. If it's going to be my version of RWBY, I can't just skip over the whole first half of Volume 1.
So, RC is going back to the planning stage, and I think I'm actually going to take the time to plan out the first few volumes. I also want to find some people to work with me on this project, though I'm not sure if that's going to happen.
I don't know when the new version of RC will be released, but it's probably not going to be this year, or maybe even next. Maybe I'll race Volume 10.
Stark Red is going to be released on a, at least, monthly schedule for now and into the future. Though I am going to try to make the chapters a bit longer to compensate for the longer time between chapters. I'm going to aim to get some 10k word chapters out. My old standard was around 6k for a chapter, though most of my chapters have been shorter than that of late, and that would take me about a week of work before editing.
Ghosts of Summer will be finished.
I've sort of ran into a problem of my understanding of these characters, particularly Summer, having changed so much since I started that fic in late 2022 that I'm not really sure if I can finish it while keeping things consistent, you know?
Maybe I'll have to end up kind of rebooting it, but I will finish it.
I want to get back to doing a few more one-shots fluff pieces.
Honestly, I'm probably not going to do much smut anymore. Not necessarily because I don't want to, but I have to be in a very particular mood to. And these days I do most of my writing before work...
I've though about bringing back Arc-Noire, but looking back on it, I think that particular premise of Jaune and Blake being step-siblings would work better as an element within a bigger AU than as a premise by itself. Like maybe in my Star Wars or future Pokémon AU. Somewhere where it's not just RWBY but with that one relationship change.
I am currently working on actually tackling a RNJR at Beacon AU. Partially based on Beacon Beckons by Nurf Darth, which I am ever sad that particular fic didn't make it past the first chapter. But sometimes if you want to see a particular fic, you kind of just have to write it yourself.
