dan howell
i was explaining to my godmother (whom i confide in a lot about a lot, including lately how i feel like i’ve become more depressed than usual) about dan howell and how he has completely changed the social media game, i mean let’s be real here, he’s come out about his sexuality and his depression and is really speaking his truth.
i’ve always felt a deeper connection with dan just in general, and i explained that to her. i understand phil can go through things as well but he’s more positive and i love that about him, but to me, dan has always been so much more relatable.
and my godmother, the lovely woman, stated the following:
“you love him and adore dan because of the way your brain & your depression works. dan is able to connect with you through the same general humor and the same general emotions y’all share. people who relate with phil more are more like phil. you’re living your truth just as dan is.”
i literally told her about these depressed feelings maybe two days ago, and there’s more to unfold, but the conversation started. THAT’S how dan has impacted my life, and that’s how you live your truth.
if you’ve made it this far, hi! you’re worth everything in the world and don’t let anyone forget that. i adore you and you don’t even know it. let’s start a thread, how has dan affected your life? how has phil?
My brain is ping-ponging all around today.

As a women...
Can I just ask why “Man of the Year” has to be someone famous? Why aren’t we taking that chance to appreciate every day guys who deserve it?
Men deserve just as much appreciation as women.
So why aren’t we appreciating them for the things they do?
As a woman I’ve encountered a lot of types of men, from the abusers to the genuine guys who fix the woman who suffered so long.
I’ve encountered men who take care of a child that’s not even there’s but never thinks any less of the child (even after the mother leaves).
I’ve encountered men who go to work on an hour of sleep because they served our country and have PTSD from it.
Men who were abused as a child and now suffers severe self esteem and trust issues.
Men who deserve just as much love and affection as women.
Why can’t we, as every day people, nominate those around us who really deserve love and appreciation for the every day things they do? Because not only the rich and famous deserve that love, so do the reformed, broken, and hard working men we come across every day.
I’m not homophobic that’s laughable honestly i have gay friends and i read lots of gay literature
