does anyone have any advice on starting art commissions? more specifically about how to grow an audience so that people will actually see my stuff.

context: therapy is pricey. i need to pay it off because things are getting bad, but i only really have like my 6 tumblr moots

Hey guys,l got a quick question!

Is my art worth buying? lf you saw my stuff around and you saw I have open commissions, would you commission me?(l'm genuinely asking so I know how/what I must work on!)

If yes,how much? How would you price my stuff? l'm new to this and have absolutely no clue about how these things work!

Calling all artists that do commissions ‼️

I wanna start doing commissions this summer, as a sort of “summer job”, because I really need money. Buuuut I have no idea how to do this…

Things I think I need to know:

1. How do I communicate with clients? In dms?

2. How does payment work?

3. What do I need to tell the clients? Do I need to show them my artwork, tell them what I can and cannot do etc?

4. Do I send the clients updates? Like after the sketch?

4.2 If yes, should I put like a big DO NOT USE thing on top? So they don’t scam me or something??

5. Can I post commission I’ve done as if they were any other piece, if I put a big DO NOT USE on top?

I think that’s it. Lmk if there’s anything else I should know :)
