STATUS EFFECTS
Hello all, as you may have read from my last post, I have started creating pixelart of status effects for my project. The idea with these, are that if my worldbuilding project with Jom'Gol ever gets to the point I can make a ttrpg game or some other sort of game, these are status effects for the Jomari! As the Jomari are different alien species, the status effects that you could potentially get can vary from familiar ones (like broken bone for example) to alien organs you have no idea (wtf is melon damage??)
The idea behind these status effects is that they would either:
In a ttrpg, you would be handed a card that had this symbol, with some sort of debuff on it (For example, Broken Bone-- reduces melee damage by 2d4 and constitution -1 until healed or something like that idk)
In an rpg game (or even like an Oregon Trail type of game lol), this symbol appears on your screen, and you have to figure out how it affects gameplay
With either of these settings, I want the difficulty to come from the fact that you might not be able to tell what it is other than the picture, and context clues from the fight that might have just happened
The color around the border of the status effect indicates what body system it is affecting (Blood, Skeletal, Nervous, etc).
The type of border around the status effect indicates what INTENSITY the status effect is (Copper, Iron, Bronze you can see for example represents Fractured Bone, Broken Bone, and Shattered Bone)
Anyways tell me what yall think, I have a few more of these in the bank I'll be posting. I haven't done pixelart in literally 4 years so this is fun and exciting to start doing again.
