Today was the perfect day to make these Chinese breads. The weather is 0 degrees, and I needed warmth in the house. It folds over so I can add in whatever fillings I want in it, OR just eat it plain. I make a large batch and cool it down before I freeze them. These Steamed Rice Squares are so fun to make, and it's delicious and fun for both kids and adults to enjoy. ๐ This brand is great to use if you want it quick and simple to make. The reason I love this brand is it has a thick and milky texture which gives the cooked rice sheets a great texture: thick, soft and won't break. I used one bag of the four mixture, 3 Tbsp tapioca starch, 2 Tbsp veg oil, pinch salt, and 900 ML water. Mix well or until everything is incorporated. Ready to use. Fillings: make them meat or meatless. I used lean ground pork (2 lb), 1 cup shallots finely diced, 1 Tbsp fish sauce, 1/2 cup rehydrated dried fungus mushroom (Asian), salt an pepper to taste. I cook them on a medium size non-stick frying pan, right on the stove top under medium to low heat. My family has enjoyed it like little Asian sandwiches!
