Flowing through the midnight sky, all the stars were chasing close behind

Hands I couldn’t touch were extending out to reach me here

And a gentle fleeting light, as it wound around my cold, lost heart tonight,

Would forever fade to the winter sky

  As the light turns into the night, the world returns to a place where stillness lies

It’s like the silence is made from peaceful memories of the stars

There are many things I want to see with you 

So I gently pointed to the sky

And I swore to take you up high

  Hoping that we’d reach the cloudless sky; a world where all the dreams and wishes shine so bright

I am pointing up into the distant sky, where you were smiling, just as I

  Can I just rewind and turn back time; go back to the first time I held your hand?

We only watched as the earth went back to sleep; a world of our own

Memories of the stars are etched in me, forever

  On that melancholic day, it was suddenly taken away

My entire being had been torn apart by the scars you gave

I was sleeping on the bed, healing from the wounds that you had left me with

All I wanted was to erase the dark

  All the joys and tears that we shared

I wanted to forget everything we said

But at the end of the line, would forgetting even help at all?

  Pretending all I feel is gone for good; far away, returned back to the stars

As the night came back once again

  Judging from your silhouette alone, I know that I’ll always be all on my own

Separating from you gave me loneliness; made me broken and weak

  Reaching out towards the distant skies, without you, it’s painful to even try

  I gathered all the fragments of my past and painted them into the sky

Both the happiness and sadness that you showed me was real

I remember the times when we ran in hand, panting, out of breath to our special place

Feeling how your hands are holding my cold hands; that’d be my one undying wish

  As I think back to the times we’ve had, I remember the warmth of your hand in mine

Now it seems that happy endings do exist, I can finally just let go

So I see the stars can guide our path to happiness
