Fall Date (Stickprice)

A/N: Everyone's doing Fall/Halloween's prompts, and I want to get in on the action! And Halloween/Fall is my favorite time of the year.

Rupert was brushing his unkempt hair to make it slick back. He tried using hair gel to make it stick, but his onyx hair was as stubborn as a mule. 

"Arrrgh! Why now?! I have to meet Henry in about 10 minutes!" He cursed.

Rupert and Henry were going on a date, specifically, a fall date.  

It was fall, and Halloween was almost here, which was Henry's favorite time of the year. 

"Fuck it, he doesn't care if my hair looks good or not," Rupert ran his fingers through his hair to get it back to its original state. 

He checked his phone and saw that it was almost time to leave. He checked himself in the mirror one last time to make sure he looked presentable. It wasn't a fancy fall date, but he still wanted to make sure he looked good.

He sprinted out of his place and headed to the park.

The trees were covered with red, brown, and golden leaves. The air was crisp, and it smelled like honey apples. Rupert liked that smell. He trekked through the park peacefully, enjoying the beauty of nature. He passed by a stand selling caramel apples. His nose caught a whiff of the scent from the caramel apples, and he sighed in contentment. 

He spotted Henry sitting at a bench, waiting for Rupert to arrive. He walked over to him, noticing that Henry was holding a brown bag. 

"Hey, Henry," Rupert greeted, setting himself down next to Henry. Henry waved at him and gave him a takeout coffee.

"Thanks, Hen." Rupert was about to take a sip from his coffee when he gave Henry a look.

"Don't worry, it's black, just the way you like it," Henry answered with a smile. He also took out some pastries. 

"Here's a donut, Thorn," Henry handed Rupert a donut. Rupert happily ate the donut while Henry ate a cupcake. 

One thing they have in common is that they love sweets. Rupert discovered Henry's love of sweets when he saw Henry devouring a cupcake in secret before a mission. Galeforce had banned every sugary food for a petty reason. His doctor ordered him not to eat sweets much to Galeforce's chagrin. Unsuprisely, no one liked that ban. Rupert chuckled at the memory.

"What's so funny?" Henry questioned as he drank his coffee. 

"I was thinking about that time when I caught you eating a cupcake even though you weren't supposed to have it," Rupert reminisced. Henry immediately blushed upon hearing that. 

 "Oi, don't be embarrassed about it," Rupert gave Henry a teasing poke on his cheek. "Discovering your secret helped my secret."

"Your love of donuts isn't a secret, Thorn," Henry retorted, "I already knew that when I was in jail and saw you eating a whole box of donuts by yourself."

Rupert's face went a bright scarlet. Rupert looked away while eating his donut. 

"You're not helping your case," Henry pointed out, sipping his coffee. 

"Shut up," Rupert mumbled. 

They finished their coffee and pastries and started walking through the park. They took in the sight of the red, orange, and golden leaves from the trees. The leaves made a crunching noise under their boots while they walked. 

"It's beautiful today," Henry admired the trees while holding Rupert's arm.

"It is. Ya know, fall is the perfect time of year," Rupert stated.

"Why?"

"'Cause I'm not freaking melting in the sun,"

Henry giggled, "Me neither. I'd rather freeze my butt off at the Wall than melt under the burning sun."

"Hen, you wouldn't survive the Wall, that's why you escaped, right?" Rupert said. He pinched Henry's side, and Henry made a squeak noise in response.

"Don't pinch my side, and yes, I did," Henry replied, rubbing his side.

Henry was kidnapped a while ago by the Wall, an infamous prison in Canada. Their warden, Dmitri Johannes Petrov, captured him despite the government's pardon. Rupert and the others didn't find out about the kidnapping until Charles brought Henry and newcomer Ellie Rose back to the base. 

The General was not happy about this information and called up the Wall in anger to chew Dmtiri out. Dmitri had to 'apologize' to Henry for the mistake they made. 

"Oi, I got something for you," Rupert said to Henry. Rupert handed Henry a black medium-sized box.

Henry opened the box, and he gasped.

"Oh, Thorn, are you sure?" Henry said in disbelief. "It's not even our anniversary."

"Call this a reward for putting up with my BS after you joined us," Rupert admitted, looking away. 

After Henry joined the Government to help them take down the Toppat clan, Rupert didn't hide his grudge toward Henry. Rupert voiced his reasons why Henry shouldn't join them, but the General shut him down quickly. To get revenge, Rupert tried to make Henry's life miserable. Henry didn't seem to mind it at first; he caused trouble for himself and several other people, including Rupert. 

That was until Rupert saved Henry from a couple of thugs, and they got stuck on a mission together, which brought them closer. Rupert let go of his grudge against Henry and somehow found a way to get together. 

"Thorn, you didn't have to. I did deserve your coldness toward me," Henry put on the choker with a replica of the Tunisian Diamond. He glanced over at Rupert with a smile. 

"How do I look?" Henry made a pose. 

Rupert felt his face getting hot, "Um... you look nice," 

Rupert cleared his throat as he looked away, face red as an apple. He was still not used to complimenting Henry in public. 

"Thanks, Rupy," Henry said happily.  

"Please don't call me that in public," Rupert said under his breath. 

 Henry giggled when his stomach growled.

Rupert laughed at Henry's red face. "Awwww, is someone hungry even though he ate earlier?" 

Henry shook his head as he pouted. 

"C'mon, diamond, let's have lunch," Rupert pointed to the exit of the park. They exited the park and headed to the restaurant district. They found a restaurant serving their special autumn dishes.

After getting a table and ordering their meals, they patiently waited for the meals to arrive. The waiter arrived with their food, and they started eating it.

"So I heard Calvin is afraid of you. Why is that?" Rupert asked with a smirk. He already knew the answer, though.

"He should have thought about the consequences before scaring me," Henry ate a forkful of food into his mouth. He was still bitter about what Calvin did to him.

Rupert wanted to point out the irony in the words Henry just said, but he didn't want to make Henry feel bad.  

"Man, I wish I could've gotten that on video," Rupert chuckled at the memory.

The Bukowski twins were notorious pranksters; Halloween and April Fools' Day were their Christmas. 

Henry was helping Rupert with inventory in one of the warehouses. Rupert handed the clipboard to Henry to give to the General, and he was about to exit the warehouse when Calvin scared him with a huge Halloween prop. Henry screamed so loud that Rupert ran over to him with his gun out, thinking there was a Toppat attack. 

Rupert put his gun away as he saw Henry grab Calvin's collar with one hand and throw him to the ground. Henry kept slapping Calvin so hard that Rupert had to cover Konrad's eyes. Rupert had to take Henry away from Calvin when he saw that Calvin was bleeding.  

"Yeah, but I got scolded by the General," Henry grumbled at the memory.

Rupert chuckled at Henry's expression. 

"Oi, at least the General gave you a warning," Rupert finished his meal as the waiter came over and asked them if they wanted dessert.

They ordered the apple pie and ate it when the waiter brought them the apple pie. They paid for their meals and left the restaurant. They walked through the park again before heading home. It was now evening, and the sky was a yellow, orange, and red color like the leaves.  The air was cooler, and a slight breeze was blowing.

There were more vendors out and about because it was close to Halloween. Some vendors were selling masks, some were selling light-up accessories, and some were selling coffee. 

Henry shivered as he walked with Rupert through the park. Rupert noticed this and took off his black trench coat and hung it over Henry. 

"Thanks, Thorn," Henry thanked Rupert. 

"No problem, Hen," Rupert smiled. Henry loved it when Rupert smiled. It made him more handsome. 

"I guess we should head home," Rupert said, checking his phone. 

Henry nodded as they exited the park and headed back home. 

"Do ya want me to walk you home?" Rupert asked. Henry held on to him with a pout. 

"I can take care of myself, Rupert," Henry replied, annoyed.

"Do ya want me to bring up the times you got kidnapped?" Rupert deadpanned.

Henry blushed as he looked away. "Thought so," Rupert smirked.

Rupert led Henry back to his apartment. They made it to Henry's floor and to his door. 

"Thanks for bringing me here safe and sound," Henry said, unlocking his door and standing in the doorway. 

"You're welcome. Without me, somebody would have kidnapped you," Rupert teased. 

"Har, har, very funny," Henry answered sarcastically. 

"Ya know it's true, good night, Henry," Rupert said, leaning closer as he showed his pearly whites. 

"Before you go, I have something for you," Henry said, picking up a bag from his cabinet and taking out a piece of candy.  

"Close your eyes,"

Rupert rolled his eyes, but closed his eyes anyway. Rupert heard the crinkling of a candy bar and felt Henry opening his mouth with his hand. Henry popped the candy into his mouth and kissed Rupert.

Rupert felt something sweet in his mouth when he felt Henry's tongue in his mouth. They both savored the taste of the chocolate in their mouths as they devoured it. They pulled away from the "delicious" kiss after the chocolate was gone. They both licked their lips to wipe off the leftover chocolate. 

"Good night, Thorn," Henry waved goodbye to Rupert and winked at him before closing the door. 

Rupert stood at his door for a few minutes, then he slouched in sadness. 

"I want more chocolate..."

So, I decided to do my own prompt challenge.

But because I am a try hard, I did all the days for a couple of them each day. (Ignore that’s the second day). I am also only doing ones that are rare, so not my main ships.

So today, here’s Stickprice!

Day 1 Comedy: (Transcript: “I can’t help it, he’s incapable of doing anything right on his own” -Rupert, who’s laughing. *about to commit a felony* -Sven.) This is based upon this one audio from Bob’s Burger where a guy teases his captor. Take 5 guess who’s who in this senerio and the first 4 don’t count.

Day 2 Valiant Hero: Kind of based on a small headcanon/idea I have Rupert reaching out to Henry to comfort him on their mutual friend’s death, because he’s not a monster. (This has unintended consequences)

Day 3 toppat: (transcript: “What’s the matter? Toppat got your tongue?” -Henry). I’m sorry, y’all. Toxic/Dark relationships are a guilty pleasure of mine. This is based upon a t4l au of mine where Henry has a sick fascination with Rupert, and wants to get his revenge on him again and again, past the point of reason. He’s high on power and is making it Rupert’s problem. (Don’t worry Rupert along with Dave escape early on in the au, but not without his voice).

Day 4 Ghosts: (Transcript: “I am a grown man, Johnny” -Rupert) Mayfly! Johnny my beloved. If you want to date Rupert, you gotta earn the approval and reconcile with his ghost best friend you murdered. Admittedly, I don’t think Stickprice would ever be canon in a IoaS ending, but this is a challenge and I like ghost Johnny.

Day 5 free day: (Transcript: *didn’t want Charles’s friend to get absolutely screwed over by gov’t* - Henry, *is going through 17 different Earth shattering crisis and Henry helping him is one of them* -Rupert). This is me attempting to have a healthy Toppat! Stickprice au, since the idea is really interesting to me. This is also based upon an au where the gov’t is corrupt and Rupert, who once thought the gov’t was pure good and can do no wrong, becomes a victim of it. Henry rescues him only because he likes his rivalry with the soldier, while Rupert blue screens from his world view crumbling to the ground. Want to make a one-shot of the idea.

So, that’s the first day! Real thoughts on the ship: I think it’s really funny. Kind of like a ship you’d joke about happening while knowing the two would both be disgusted at the idea. However, I do believe if I read a really good, and I mean REALLY GOOD, fic about a ship between these two it might bring me to enjoy it. It has potential, what can I say?

Alright, here we go!

Copperright - One of the very few THSC ships I like but I also like them just as close friends or as a QPR as well.

Curtison - Meh, I liking seeing content of it but don't personally ship it or see the appeal. No hate to the shippers obviously.

Curtipan - Another meh, not super interested since I don't see much content for the ship. It's cute, I'll give it that.

Galetrov - I see them more as divorced exes or close work partners/friends. Nothing much to say.

Stickprice - I don't hate the ship with the passion of a thousand suns per say, but I personally prefer them as separate/acquaintances like they go on their own paths and don't ever interact again (which is for the best honestly in my opinion). It's a mix of my personal hc and overall disinterest in Henry's character as a whole.

Stickpan - Like with Curtipan, not really super interested either. It's a meh ship for me. The ship doesn't really catch my attention.

Panprice - I do like seeing Panprice stuff and think most of it is cute but not a hardcore shipper.

Polythreat - I think it's a neat ship but again, not a full-time shipper so I wouldn't exactly call myself a Polythreat shipper.

Rosemin - Another neat ship that I sometimes like seeing content of but not a super dedicated shipper.

Stickvin - I do like it sometimes but other times, I'm like...'hm, maybe I don't like it as much.' I'm neutral on this one.

Rosevin - I personally think it's a nice ship and do like content when I do see it but don't actively carve it.
