everybody in this world has a finger prints, and every single one of them is different. you will never find someone with the same finger print as you because we are all unique just like them. so why in the 21st century are we still labeling each other with the same of stereotypical glossary? in my english class yesterday, my teacher gave us a list of words and asked us to place them in to two columns. one column was for words associated with male stigmatization and the other column was for words associated with female stigmatization. so without a second thought we all got too it. within moments the who room had come to an agreement on the words we found easiest to place in either one of the columns. the top 3 words that we decided on for males where carefree, nonchalant and aggressive. the top 3 words we decided on for women where nurturing clean and psycho. but little did we realise that all the words our teacher gave us had 0 gender stigmatization on them at all, as a whole class we just stereotyped gender based on what we thought we knew. but in reality all the words we where given should have gone into both. not once did one of us thing about the single dad a couple of doors down who is possibly the most nurturing person you would ever meet. the only thing he ever thinks about is his son getting to and from school safely and him not having to explain to another kid in the play ground why he doesnt have a mum or if his dad was gay because he cared so much. and i definitely bet no one thought about the woman who lives on their grandmas street who neglected her children and beats her husband half to death every day because she is too intoxicated by the drink thats poisoning her body. what about the classic idea that women are the ones who should be the receptionist or assistant to the big male boss who runs the company because the men are the 'bread winners' of the family. are we forgetting all the revolutionary women who started their own business and didnt need anyone to even be their assistant like Florence nighting gale and marie curie. but by branding women as assistants would stop them reaching their full potential because our society doesnt deem them useful. theres even the stereotypical ideal body that should be show by both genders, men need to be hench and women need to be skinny. do people not know just by saying that this is what we should look like people go to extremes to achieve them. women taking dieting pills and starving them selves as well as boys taking steroids. what about the fact that a 'normal' girl wheres makep or isnt beautiful anymore? in year 7 i didnt even know  how to aply the free mascara that i got with my magazine and now people are moving up to high school with their contouring perfect and over 10 mac lipsticks that cost around £15.50 each time. the stigmatization around males and females is causing the younger generation to grow up too fast just so they can fit the norm.

stereotyping is so stupid, you cannot brand a whole sex on the actions of one man, because one that stereotype becomes a thing people would do anything to either do that stereotype or change them selves. we may all bleed the same but we are far from the same. so never ever ever label anyone until you know exactly what they are.

The way in which the media discusses illegal drugs and drug users often characterizes them as dangerous and "others" them from the rest of society. This is problematic because it prevents a more open and understanding dialogue over drug use to take place.

FAT

Just a reminder, fat is a thing, not a person. A person has fat, they are not fat.  I'm not sure if I'm more angry or sad at how people see weight loss. I don't mean how they do it, I mean the views on it. Wanting to be skinny rather than fit or healthy.  Aspirations to lose weight shouldn't be about seeing bones, being as skinny as others, etc., etc. People should be aspiring to be HEALTHY. To feed your body the nutrition it deserves, to exercise so that your body can function well.  Why has weight loss and exercise become about guilty, shame, and personal punishment, instead of empowerment, self-respect, and self-love?
