New year post (^∇^)ノ♪
(the colors are purely speculative, not the real ones)
I am listing the literary references present in Vanitas no Carte and I have to say it: I am fascinated and extremely concerned about how Mochizuki inserted Astolfo in Vanitas no Carte; Astolfo, the paladin who, in “Orlando Furioso” (the most famous work of the Italian author Ludovico Ariosto), flies to the Moon, where all the lost things of the human world go, to bring Orlando’s - or Rolando, or Roland - sanity back (the hero lost it from unrequited love).
His presence is not secondary, so… what does Mochizuki have in mind for us? Not Roland’s death, as many fans are expecting, but something terrible for him and related to someone he loves, so horrific to drive him insane? Yes, without a doubt I am scared.
Furthermore, in “Orlando Furioso”, among the twelve greatest paladins of the Christian army, there are many Saracen knights who converted themselves to Christianity. So… is it possible that among the Chasseur there are vampires, or perhaps dhampyrs, who have switched sides and are ready to fight against their own kind?… Or perhaps they aren’t?
