2022 is coming!
this is going to be a very long, angry and upset post but i need to get some things off my chest. if you want to add an opinion or reblog it, please read everything before doing so, thank you.
(also grammer mistakes and mispellings inc, english is not my first language, so bear with me)
why aren’t people tagging major spoilers from the new Marvels Avengers game?
and with “people” i mostly mean the stony/stevetony fandom. i’m really sad and disappointed. this is not going to be a full rant or anti-post... idk i just wanna explain my feelings and i hope people can learn from this and understand - so this won’t happen again in the future. also i’m not going to call out any names.
so
yesterday i saw some tweets with screenshots of the game blow up on twitter. i was just scrolling down my timeline, head empty, just my daily twitter check up. i follow some (maybe 5 or 6) stony fan accounts and there were screenshots of a very particular scene EVERYWHERE. no escape. i saw them, saw the characters in it, boom, damage done. a major story campain spoiler right in my face. without any tags. not even a spoiler warning.
i mean.. it’s twitter. like, i’m not gonna go into full detail about my issues with the platform now, but ya know... it’s twitter. but i know a lot of you are using it as well, so i thought mentioning it would be suitable.
i told my friends who are going to buy or have already bought it, including @ylissianprince, that i just saw a major spoiler and warned them that these are going around in social media. i went to bed, afterwards, already quite upset.
next morning (today) i woke up to a few texts from @ylissianprince complaining that she got spoiled too - but from bigger blogs here in tumblr. i haven’t checked tumblr much these last days and i’m glad, bc it’s not only screenshots but full gif sets going around. @ylissianprince told me that NOTHING was tagged as spoilers. nothing. a few hours later we discussed the whole thing and she told me that she asked one of them to please tag spoilers. they didn’t tag everything with it... which is ??? okay? at least they tagged some things i guess. i mean, the damage is done already. our discussion inspired me to type this down and post it.
and i’m just so angry? like, if it was a small spoiler, an easter egg or a character being in the story who nobody expected, i’d be fine. i don’t mind minor spoilers. but this is a really big one. and tbh? it almost ruined the game for me. i’m still gonna play it bc it’s fun (i played the beta and i love it) but i feel like this precious and emotional moment got stolen from me - i wanted to experience it myself, while playing. not to mention that the ps4 version of the game is 70€ (in germany), which i didn’t pay in full myself - i had some financial support, bc i’m broke af - but i’m 100% sure there are other people just as upset as me and who paid the full price for it.
idk how many of you play (story based) video games, but it’s like... an interactive movie or tv show. you would hate to get your favourite tv show spoiled, don’t you? which brings me to the next thing that bothers me:
if it was a new mcu movie, people would go crazy if any of the bigger blogs would reblog spoilers without tagging them. people would share 100+ posts about how spoiling something is bad and disrespectful. they tag spoilery posts with a million variations of the movies name + “spoilers”. i’m one of these people, too. i don’t have the most organized tagging system, i know, but i ALWAYS tag spoilers. but why didn’t people tag this? bc it’s “only” a video game? it’s still a piece of media that can be consumed like any other. like a movie, a book or a tv show. i don’t see the difference.
there are some people who gained early access to the game, which is... yikes, but this is not a post about the issues of twitter OR the video game industry. ofc there’ll be videos on youtube. we can’t change that. but we can change how, where and with whom we share it. thats why the internet came up with tagging and blacklisting systems.
i could go on forever, but i’ll stop now, bc i think i have made my point. i’m upset and i hope i could reach at least someone and made them think about their actions and how spoilers can ruin things.
so... long story short: tag your damn spoilers, no matter the type of media.
thank you for reading. <3
I will be entirely honest with you here - I’m overwhelmed, ecstatic, delighted, and all in all being very uncool about this.
I really cannot tell you how much being in this fandom means to me. And I want every single person who follows me, comments, kudos, sends asks, likes my manips or simply quietly reads my work - somewhere in the world, there is a real person whose life you have made better. Thank you all so much!
And, in that spirit, of course I want to do something to celebrate! And to do something for all the people who have followed my work so far. So.
I’m going to be writing 10 one shot stories, set in the ‘universe’ of my existing fics - so, if you’ve ever wondered ‘what happened next?’ (or, just wanted to see more of Steve and Tony being happy together, after all the angst I put you through to get to the happy ending…)
PLEASE CONSIDER VOTING IN THIS POLL
The fics will be divided up according to the votes. So, if everyone picks Blood and Other Drugs, you’re going to get ten vampire fics. If half of you pick If We Agree, This Doesn’t Count… then, you’re getting five more fics of angst, and you asked for it.
And so on.
Voting closes at the end of August, because, honestly, that’s when I’m going to have time to write them 😂
And further gushing, emotional thanks to everyone that makes this fandom such a wonderful place to be. I’m not exaggerating - I love you all.
The 0-8-4 Disaster (one-shot)
for @a-storm-cloud: your wish is my command ;)
It had been a normal SHIELD mission; retrieve the 0-8-4, don't open it, and wait for pick up. Nothing should've gone wrong, but Tony.
It's always Tony.
"What is that?" Tony asked Steve and Natasha as they walked into the tower carrying the box that held the 0-8-4.
"We don't know, " Steve shrugged snd sat it down. "SHIELD is picking it up in a few hours."
"Don't open it, Stark," Natasha said sternly as she walked away to find Bruce. Thor was off world still and Clint was on a solo mission.
"Don't they give you any information when they ask you to pick things up?" Tony circled the box.
"Yeah." Steve rsised an eyebrow. "They said it's an 0-8-4. Alien. Unknown. Probably dangerous to mess with it. I don't need to know anything else. "
Tony wasn't as easily convinced though, and the more seconds passed as he stared at the box that had been sat on the living room table, the more his hands itched to open it.
"Well, what if we just--"
"No, Tony."
"But--"
"No."
Too bad Tony wasn't known for taking commands too well, and swiftly his hands were on the box and opening it before Steve could stop him.
Before them stood a tiny black rock. It looked normal, frankly. So normal that Steve and Tony shared a look of confusion.
"Are you guys sure you picked up the right thing?" Tony snarked.
"Positive," Steve pursed his lips, unamused.
"Well, wonder what it could do if it looks that normal?" Tony mused aloud. "What's the worse that could happen?"
Steve wanted to tell him that the building could collapse on top of them, or it could be an alien bomb that could destroy the whole city, or maybe it was some kind of portal--the possibilities were endless. Yet, there was something warm about being in the presence of the stone.
There was something warm swirling in his soul at Tony's childish curiosity.
There was something. So he didn't say anything, and Tony reached out and grabbed the stone.
The stone burned in Tony's hands, and Tony tried to let it go but he couldn't. Steve tried to help, but there was no use.
"What's happening?" Steve yelled.
"I don't know. I don't--it's trying--I can't stop it," Tony shouted frantically. He shook his head a few times, but then he looked right at Steve. "I'm in love with you."
The stone stopped burning and dropped from Tony's hand.
“What?” Steve said quietly.
“What?” Tony repeated owlishly.
“You just said you’re in love with me...”
“It was the stone,” Tony shrugged, but it was clear his shoulder’s were tense. “It made me say it. It was like I couldn’t stop myself.”
Steve furrowed his brows. “Do you think it just latches on to the person nearest to the one holding it? Jarvis?”
Jarvis answered in that polished yet dispassionate way of his. “My algorithm to determine romantic relationships lead me to the conclusion that, based on Mr. Stark’s interactions and heart rate, Mr. Stark is in love with you Captain Rogers.”
“I need to fix him,” Tony said, clearly startled. “He’s obviously broken. We need another hand--NATASHA!”
Natasha walked in calmly, a raised eyebrow in place. “You know, shouting is one of the main signs of hysteria, Tony.”
“No time for jokes,” Tony practically growled at her. “We need you to pick up the stone.”
“Didn’t I tell you not to touch the 0-8-4?”
“Lecture me later--we need you to pick it up,” Tony rolled his eyes impatiently.
Steve looked at Natasha, confusion and anxiety whirling in his heart. “Please,” he asked gently. Whatever she saw in his eyes convinced her, and suddenly her scream was just as loud and anguished as Tony’s had been.
“Don’t fight it,” Tony coached her. “Just let it do it’s thing.”
Natasha glared at him, but followed his instruction.
“I’m in love with Bruce,” she said through clenched teeth. The stone fell from her hands.
It was clear that it had nothing to do with proximity.
“My algorithm has determined that Miss Romanoff is telling the truth. Her heart rate spikes when she is around Mr. Banner, and--”
“We get it Jarvis,” Tony glowered at the ceiling.
“I’m never touching anything again that you two want me to without knowing why first,” Natasha glared at them and walked away. Steve didn’t blame her; he knew how private she was.
“Tony...” Steve didn’t know what to say. He wasn’t sure how to address the elephant in the room. But he wanted to.
“Don’t, Rogers,” Tony grit his teeth. He couldn’t look him in the eyes--he’d been ignoring any changes in his emotions towards Steve for so long that he wasn’t even sure how to accept them.
Steve paused to reflect on his own emotions for a moment; after a few seconds, his face froze in determination. Tony didn’t want to know what conclusion he’d drawn.
“You’re stuffy, and bossy, and annoyingly self righteous,” Tony rambled as his only shield. Steve leaned forward, but Tony ignored him. “You always think you’re right--”
“I’m in love with you, too,” Steve said.
It was at that moment that Tony realized that Steve had picked up the stone. The stone hadn’t burned him, because he wasn’t trying to deny the truth.
“My algorithms say that --”
“Shut up, Jarvis,” Tony and Steve said simultaneously.
They both smiled and their hearts were as warm as the core of the earth.
Quita esos ojos de cachorro Capi, sabes que ya no funcionan conmigo.

Steve?
I’ve been thinking about starting yet another sideblog. This one would be mostly Steve-dedicated (with stony also, and steve brotp stuff, maybe, but no solo Tony)..
The reason: ever since starting this blog, I’ve been at first confused then saddened by the disproportion between Tony content and Steve content in the Stony fandom. I mean obviously, Tony love is gr8 and he deserves everything and more. But for me - a full-time Stony obsessive, Steve deserves everything and more also. And by that I mean good meta, arts, gifs, passionate defenses of his character and work, all those things Tony gets in the Stony fandom by the bucketloads. Big ones... Steve’s bucketloads are more like cuploads...
So anyway, my question is, if you’re a Stony shipper/obsessive/worshipper(lol), would you contribute to such a thing, a little?
