Sometimes I still think about the AU concept I had (in the background of a Borgias fic, I think?) where there’s no Game of Thrones. Instead, the fantasy series that gets the big prestige adaptation is David and Leigh Eddings’ Elenium (well, Elenium-Tamuli)—
—but it still has the GOT cast.
I’d only gotten so far as deciding on Lena Headey as Sephrenia, but it’s still fun to try and imagine how it would work. Like, who would even be Sparhawk? Peter Dinklage might have the right energy ... and what about Aphrael and Danae? Ehlana? Natalie Dormer was older than Ehlana, but it might not want to lean into the age difference so much, and she could do a really good job. And Stragen could be really fun ...
(I also thought of the Belgariad, but a) it’s less HBO’s style and b) I like the Elenium better, despite a soft spot for Garion, Polgara, and Zakath.)
