thinking about mike with DID yet again.......

au where the wheeler's pretty much fucking suck way more

will is the first to know mike has alters

the first to "appear" is paladin when mike starts having panic attacks

there's also a persecutor modeled after both his parents

season one has the system growing by more than three alters by itself bc it's that stressful to him

by the end of canon, mike has a medium-sized system; he's also only out as a system to will and el (she lives here ofc)

he also has a dedicated box of notebooks for his system

some alters journal, some write, some draw, others just use one to talk externally bc communication is hard

mike discovers his symptoms are DID as an older teen, 16-19 years old

mike comes out to the rest of the party with DID when he's 19, a few weeks after his official diagnosis

mike actually switches hosts a few times over his childhood and will always helps the new host catch up if they need it

the party struggle a little with his diagnosis but they are supportive in the end and definitely do mean well

he's always been at least partially aware of having alters without knowing he had DID

can't drive because of his dissociation levels at first, will drives him everywhere when they move in together/after will gets his license

mike has more than a few fictives based on his favorite media and he has alters from some of his stories he's written

he also has a few alters heavily inspired by his friends (because of course he's got a semi-low split tolerance)
