I think steve harrington would seriously enjoy a girlfriend who’s hot for him. High school gave him a seriously high ego, but soon after graduating he learned that there was more to life than girls.
Fighting for his life every other year probably helped him heal a little bit from his need to impress everyone all the time, but when he finally laid down at night he had this crushing fear that he would never be good enough for true, honest love.
Thats why he was so nervous about you. Confident, smart, witty you. You got along with the younger kids very well. In fact, Erica even threw a couple punches in your name (but don’t tell anyone.).
Dustin—who did have working eyes— urged one of his longtime role models to ‘get his head out of his ass’ and ‘get the goddamn girl’. He had seen how Steve’s body gravitated to yours and how he seemed to be more pleasantly dispositioned when you were around. You often got home from work sooner than Steve, so oftentimes there was a meal waiting for Steve when he returned from the Squawk. (You made a little extra for Robin sometimes too!) Then Steve would find you curled up on the couch, reading or watching TV or something. But Steve’s favorite part? Crawling into your lap and letting you play with his fingers, card your own fingers through his hair, tell him about your day, and tell him that you missed him.
Fuck did Steve love that. Sometimes he would go down on you in the middle of a conversation and he would have you attempt to finish your sentences. He just couldn’t let his pretty girl’s needs get ignored now, could he?
Then sometimes he would carry you up to his room, eat you out again, and then gove you the best dick of your life. In all honesty? Life was amazing.
When you were asleep, wrapped in, like, five blankets because you ran cold, Steve would watch you. He’d think of how much you saved him, how you made him feel like his purpose wasn’t just protecting kids and being Robin’s trusty sidekick. You made him feel the blood warm in his face with every glance. You made him realize that the world wasn’t all black sludge and missing kids and the fear of the unknown.
No, you showed him that life had just as many positives to make up for the negatives.
