Every time I check in on twitter, it gets worse. It’s raining slurs, workers are being threatened, now extorting blue checks for verification- all while accounts are tweeting through it, just like that string ensemble playing on as the Titanic sank.

Really thought it would take a much larger coordinated effort to tank this beast- but now it seems that Elon’s apparently doing our job for us. No one will pay to use twitter except brands, actual users are the product.

There’s no need to sabotage, when he’s doing all the work for us.

3. Donate to a Strike Fund

Strike Funds are helping workers meet basic needs and supply their strike lines so they can remain steadfast in their mission for a fair contract.  Each location has its own fundraiser, managed by organizers directly in contact with the workers. While the BCTGM International Union supports these fundraising efforts, none of them are directly affiliated with the Headquarters office.

1. Sign the IATSE Notice Petition

Sign the petition, demonstrate that the IATSE has plenty of public support.

Similar to the above, the Social Media Toolkit helps keep the negotiations front and center, building pressure and public sentiment for the strike and for the union.

John Deere

1. Sign up for UAWire

The UAW is the labor union the John Deere strikers are in.  UAWire is their communication that lists events, communications and press releases, and fundraising.

2. Show up or support a picket line

You can either show up yourself or show support from afar.  Order them food, swing by to cheer them up, tell your friends about the lines and not to cross them.

Why John Deere strike victory is a win for all workers

Ten thousand John Deere workers in five states, represented by the United Auto Workers, have won their five-week strike against the giant equipment manufacturer. The victory is unequivocal.
