okay so i was trying to decide what job they should have and i looked up a bunch of weird ones
i thought. zookeeper, maybe. deodorant tester. food stylist. but no, do you know what i settled on? rental boyfriends.
1) taako and kravitz are rival RENTAL BOYFRIENDS and they work for the same little company their mutual friends started in college and they hate each other, obviously, they work themselves to the bone being the best boyfriends for a pretty penny and trying to get the most dates and advertising for the service when they don’t have them. you probably wouldnt think it’s a hard job but they work hard to be perfect and make the best time for their clients and sometimes when they have to advertise theyre literally out there on a street doing the quiznos sign dance and that shit is exhausting but like. it’s a small business
2) so maybe kravitz comes in from doing this on a cold day and he’s worn to the bone and taakos fresh off of a date and he’s hanging around having coffee and they see each other and banter a little but krav looks kind of weak in the knees and taakos like. hm. we do hospitality. ill get you some coffee just this once
3) and he comes back and kravitz has COLLAPSED he’s SICK oh NO he wore himself OUT how could this BE
and taakos like you need to go home now, ill take the rest of your contracts for the day and kravitz is like the hell i will, you just want to win and taakos like fucking fine! magnus and barry can have all of our jobs, im taking you home, you stupid stubborn fucker
and krav wants to argue but he just wants to go to bed so bad and that coffee is making his stomach upset and his head hurts and he’s not sure if he hit it on the floor
4) so taako drives him home. usually krav takes the bus. and he’s like. it’s weird to have you in my house. and taakos like im not gonna fucking let you pass out again, jerk. and he makes him some soup and takes him to bed and tucks him in and. kisses his forehead
and both of them are staring at each other like FUCK OH NO WHAT
and taakos like UH I DONT LIKE YOU THAT WAS JUST BOYFRIEND HABIT
and krav is like RIGHT I DONT LIKE YOU EITHER THAT JUST MADE ME SMILE OUT OF. REFLEX and they look at each other
and they boyfriend all day but not for real. they ache to boyfriend for real. they look at each other and they kiss and almost spill the soup and taakos like FUCK and krav is like SHIT and taakos like YOURE SICK YOU SHOULD SLEEP NOT KISS and kravs like YOURE THE ONE WHO KISSED ME and taakos like YOU KISSED BACK SHITHEAD and kravitz is like WELL MAYBE I FUCKING LIKED IT DID YOU CONSIDER THAT OR WAS YOUR HEAD TOO FAR UP YOUR ASS
5) taako stays and takes care of him and krav sleeps and feels better in the morning and they sit on the couch and eat more soup and crackers and they kind of dont look at each other and theyre like. i do sort of like working with you. and. you’re very attractive. and that kiss was nice. and i appreciate that you took care of me because no one else would have done that and it made me feel some certain type of way and i dont know how to handle that
what if we dated and just didnt tell anybody
and theyre both sort of like. hm. can we skip all the meet cute shit and the trial dating stuff and just. be domestic and chill and fond?
