Incoming E-mail from Atari with a attachment.
Atari: I know we've been online friends for awhile but I couldn't help but get you a small gift! Maybe in the future we can meet in person :) <3 Merry Christmas!
Attached to the email is a gift card to a well known bookstore. Maybe side from video games, they could bond over books.
It was a surprise. Eddie didn’t know why, though. They were friends. Maybe Christmas was still a strange concept to him. & so, Eddie did appreciate being remembered this Holiday. Except... it was an utterly USELESS gift. If Eddie wanted to, he could own any book in the world. He had millions, & frequently stole goods for himself.
But how was she supposed to know he was, technically, a CRIME BOSS ? A man who was currently wanted ? No, to her, Eddie was sure she just thought him of as a middle class member of society.
TheSphinx : Thank you. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, how did you know that? Lol! It was George R. R. Martin who said, “a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. A man who never reads lives only one.” There is truth to that quote.
He wasn’t going to tell her it was useless, & chances of him using it are slim.
TheSphinx : Meeting you would be a gift itself.
He pulled back from the keyboard for a moment. Would she even like him anymore if she knew just who he was ? Whilst Eddie believes himself to be a NOBLE man, most saw him as despicable, irredeemable, a homicidal monster. He didn’t like thinking about it, so, Eddie returned to typing another message.
TheSphinx : Is there anything you ever wanted? Anything at all?
