¡Today is my birthday!

My boyfriend commissioned this hand-painted figure from a small local 3D printing company.

It has cost a lot of money and many months of waiting and painting, but the result is wonderful.

I am the happiest girl in the world (and the most simp)!

I would be excited if this reached Unknown Worlds. Let's see if we can get it together 🥺🩷

Mer!Au Robin Ayou!

If you ask why mer!Robin has blue tinged hair. I'll just act like its a super well thought out camouflage trait and most mermaids have Hair that fade into te colour of their tail for hunting purposes and protection blabla.

totally not me giving in to the viscous barbie hair crayon impulses…

Moving on-

She was supposed to have a barb in her tail, one of the few natural defensive weapons they have, note: the barb is a long spine, and much like bee stingers it will snap usually after use, and require extraneous energy to regrow over three or so months. So it's not used nilly willy.

Background wise, eh not too impressed with its result. Its practice but at least it's coloursful, i also got lazy with the scales but 38 hours of work into a piece will do that to anyone.

Discoloration on her waist is a result of her constant habit to beach and drags herself on land.

Her excessive scars are do to her position as a hunter/protector, Mermaids in this caste are often more aggressive and formidible then the average mermaid. And are tasked with protecting and combating threats.

Sam is also this caste, unfortunately Danny is not...lol

Absolutely no idea if you are into Subnautica Below Zero anymore but as someone who has just finished the game for the first time 2 days ago, I fucking love how you write Al-An. I've had a hard time finding fics that aren't shippy and out of those I did find, you have the best Al-An characterization. I shall cherish your Al-An and gently place him in my thoughts. He shall linger there until the day I die. Thank you for your services.

You're very welcome. And thank you so much! I am still into Subnautica: Below Zero, and while I'm currently focusing on other writing projects, I have a few ideas for future SBZ stories. :)

I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me how much you enjoy my writing. I'm glad you like my Al-An characterization; I love that tactless darling, and it's good to know I portrayed their personality well.

I, too, prefer the non-shippy stuff when it comes to Al-An and Robin; I can enjoy a romance when it's written well, but platonic love stories are more my jam.

Subnautica Week 2021 Themes

Hello all!

We are just over a month away from Subnautica Week 2021 and so it is time to reveal the themes.

You don't have to only draw these themes. You could, for example, write a PDA entry, make a gif set, make a video, write a story featuring your creation, or whatever takes your fancy. I’ve included some questions in the descriptions for each day, but you do not have to answer them all in your creations. They are merely there for some guidance/prompting if you’re a bit stuck on what you want to create. You also don’t have to do something for every single day. Everything is up to you.

The majority of these themes are a 'create your own' style since there's a lot that can be done creatively within the world of Subnautica, and I wanted the prompts to be as open as possible.

These themes do contain some spoilers for Subnautica: Below Zero!

Day 1 (April 5): Create your own creature

We all know that the creatures in Subnautica can range from the adorably cute to the bone-chillingly terrifying. If you were to create your own creature, what would they look like? What sounds would they make? What would they eat? What biome would they be in? Would they be a land, sea, or sky creature, or maybe a combination?

Day 2 (April 6): Create your own vehicle

The vehicles help us in navigating the big scary ocean, from transporting us through the shallows to the deepest, darkest depths. What will your vehicle look like? What would it need to power it? How far would it be able to take you? Is it designed for the air, sea, or land?

Day 3 (April 7): Create your own biome

The biomes featured in Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero are easily one of the most stunning aspects of the game. From the safety of the shallows to the fiery lava-filled depths, we can’t deny that there is a lot on show. What kind of biome would you create? Would it be safe or filled with danger? What flora and fauna might we find there? Did the Architects/Precursors ever use it?

Day 4 (April 8): Design your own Architect/Precursor vessel

In Subnautica: Below Zero, we see Al-An transfer himself from Robin's mind into a majestic vessel that looks like a cybernetic centaur. Create your own vessel for the Architects/Precursors. Would they resemble an animal? What would they be made out of? What would they be capable of?

Day 5 (April 9): Create your own Subnautica character

Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero introduce us to many characters, not just the ones we play. What would your own character be like? Would they agree with Alterra or be against them? Would they ever go to 4546B? If so, what would they do there? Are they human?

Day 6 (April 10): Crossover

The theme for today prompts you to mash Subnautica with another of your favourite games/books/shows/films/etc. You can do this any way you’d like. What would the cast of something else look like in the Subnautica world? What would the characters in Subnautica look like in another universe?

Day 7 (April 11): Whatever you want

Let your creativity run wild. Create whatever Subnautica-themed wonderfulness you want!

If your creations may be triggering due to alcohol/drug usage, blood, violence, etc. please remember to tag your posts appropriately.
