A friend wondered why he hadn't heard back from a potential client after he emailed them following what he thought was a promising meeting.
Checked the email he'd sent them.
"It was nice to meet you toady."
Ah that'd be it.

I got a 4 min long video of Kimchi dreaming today, so here's a clip
You get the whole walk cycle and the little sprint at the end.
Sometimes her sprints last for like 4 or 5 seconds and she can shoot herself off the couch or into a wall if she gets a grip with her back claws. If she does it next to a wall, her head smacking into it sounds like someone is trying to break into the house. She doesn't wake up.
Later in the dream she injured her paw and was limping, and earlier she caught something and ate it.
unauthorized fucking thing!!!!!!

"Blackbird" - personal work, inspired by my hometown. Blackbirds are my favourite - they sing so beautifully.
do you guys remember when we googled something and we would get results that were actually related to the things we searched
"why can't they just be friends?" not in the homophobic sense, but in the "in your need to center romance in everything you are missing the whole point of the media in question" sense
Also, I donāt want to derail this, but⦠just because a character has been in love or experienced sexual desire even if it is mutual it doesnāt mean they canāt ājustā be friends.
Sometimes friendship is the endgame. The rest is just process.
This is called a spiny flower mantis and they're real and look like a dream??
As someone recently diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, one thing thatās been helping me grapple with the intense shame I have over all my āwasted potentialā is accepting that potential doesnāt exist and never did.
This sounds so harsh, but please bare with me.
I procrastinated a lot growing up. I still procrastinate today, but less so. And yet, I got good grades. I could write an A+ paper that āknocked [my professor]ās socks offā in the hour before class and print it with sweat running down my face.
I was so used to hearing from teachers and family that if I just didnāt procrastinate and worked all the time, I could do anything! I had all this potential I wasnāt living up to!
And thatās true, as far as it goes, but thatās like saying if Usain Bolt just kept going he could be the fastest marathon runner in the world. Why does he stop at the end of the race??
If ANYONE could make their top speed/most productive setting the one they used all the time, anyone could do anything. But you canāt. Your top speed is not a speed youāre able to sustain.
Now, Iāve found that I do need to work on not procrastinating. Not because the product is better, even, but because itās better for my mental health and physical health to not have a full, sweating, panicked breakdown over every task even if the task itself turns out excellently. Itās a shitty way to live! You feel bad ALL the time! And I donāt deserve to live like that anymore.
So all of this to say, Iām not wasting a ton of potential. I donāt have an ocean of productivity and accomplishments inside of me that I could easily, effortlessly access if I just sat down 8 hours a day and worked. Thereās no fucking way. Thatās not real. Itās an illusion. Itās fine not to live up to an illusion.
And if you have ADHD, I mean this from the bottom of my heart: you do not have limitless potential confounded by your laziness. You have the good potential of a good person, and you can access it with practice and work, but do not accept the story that you are choosing not to be all that you are or can be. You are just a human person.
"Potential" is such a manipulative word, in that it implies that if you weren't failing to maintain your personal responsibilities to society, you would not only be good, you would be great, you would be a success.
It shows that we are conditioned from a young age to believe that if we don't do what is expected of us, that it is a personal failing, regardless of if those expectations are actually achievable without inflicting harm upon ourselves.
Our mental health is in shreds because we're expected to live on a knife-edge of endless growing goals and painful failure, and we're supposed to get through it all as individuals.
i just discovered this gorgeous progress flag design by FlailingSpade and was inspired to build upon it
the colorblind and photosensitive friendly color scheme comes from the star of david progress flag by dykeboytism
both of these flags will be placed under the read more just in case either link ends up not working
id like to think of this as the sunrise progress flag : >
pixeled it :3
THEY PUT SEX MAGIC BACK IN THE FLAG (and a secret third thing??)!!!!
secret third thing is killing me thank you lmao š
i forgot that not everyone is aware that before he passed, gilbert baker added a lavender stripe to the top of his flag that represents diversity
I think a lot of people spent their childhoods being very deliberately forced out of their comfort zones by parents / teachers / whomever in a way that was just deeply unpleasant and degrading and so, when they reach young adulthood and are finally allowed real control over their lives, become set on only doing things they know they're comfortable with forever. that's a really important thing to be able to do, especially if you're so used to having your boundaries routinely ignored that you aren't even certain what you like vs what you can bear, so I absolutely see why a person would have a negative reaction to being told that discomfort is good: it can very easily sound like being told that all that work they've been doing to prioritze their needs for the first time ever is Bad and Selfish, actually. and to that I will say two things:
one: as long as you aren't hurting or, like, being a dick to anyone, just staying in your comfort zone isn't an immoral action. if you just want to read one type of book (or just fanfiction), or just eat one type of food, or just watch one type of movie, or not go to new types of social events, you aren't being a bad person for that, and if people say that, they are soundly wrong and just trying to get a self-righteousness kick.
two: trying new things because you want to expand yourself feels a hell of a lot different than trying new things because you're being forced to. you'll feel better about trying new foods if you know you have a back up familiar one in case you can't stomach the new one, it's easier to read new books if you can experiment with audio versions or reading it in little five-page chunks by yourself, you can breathe a lot easier going somewhere new if you aren't chained there for three hours because your parent is your ride home, etc.
tl;dr: new things are good. I get why you might not want to try new things, and that's fine, but it's also more comfortable to try new things as an adult with your own agency so, yeah, what have you got to lose by trying a weird old art film?
one thing Iāll add: the secret hack for learning to do new things when you werenāt allowed to have boundaries as a kid is 1) always give yourself an out, and 2) practice using them LIBERALLY.
Trying a new food? You can stop at a single bite. Bored at the cinema? You can walk out mid-movie. Really want to go to a friendās party but youāre also exhausted? You can plan on just going for 30 minutes, and you can leave even sooner if that ends up being too long.
The more you practice using outs liberally, the more you reinforce to your body that you are capable of protecting yourself.
I only started being able to go to weekly activites consistently once I started giving myself an out at every step. i.e:
- Iāve gotten ready and then not left the house
- Iāve driven there and then driven straight back
- Iāve left halfway through lessons
- Iāve modified or plain skipped the exercises that were flaring my POTS, or making me feel dysphoric, or that I just didnāt feel like doing that day.
The result? Iāve attended the most sessions out of any weekly hobby Iāve tried to do for the past several years. And itās actually getting a little easier every week.
